Running for the Chains III

Post by Rob Breckenridge »

In Honor of April 1st, I am happy to once again announce the annual running for the chains fundraiser. I will be running the Middlebury Half marathon in May and the Clarence DeMar full Marathon in September. The past two years NEFA members have sponsored me in terms of pledging a certain $ amount for mileage. All funds raised will be put towards Otter Brook State park and the completion of the back 9. For those of you familiar with the front 9, you know your contributions have been put to good use.The back 9 will be just as sweet! Donations can be sent to my paypal breck66@gmail.com or snail mailed to my home address 17 Hancock St, Keene,NH. 03431

As always, thanks to my extended NEFA Family for the ongoing support.

Race weekend is at hand, I have trained hard and am ready to hit my half marathon this Sunday, Hoping for a personal record, conditions are right for it. Hoping to get some more support from my NEFA family for this event and the full marathon I am doing this Fall. WE have been working hard on the back 9 at Otter Brook and would really like to plant baskets this year, every bit helps. Will post my race results Sunday night.

The half marathon went well, I felt strong and well prepared, I had to drop pace the 2nd half of the race as the cloud cover broke and the temps got close to 80 (not ideal) I will be doing the Clarence DeMAr full Marathon this September and would like to be sponsored for this as well. Big thanks to Bill Bertera for his recent donation via pay pal!
Here is my official printout of today's race.

Robert Breckenridge 44 94/164 M 14/27 M4049 KEENE NH 1:55:24 1:54:44 8:46

I ran an 8:46 min/mile and finished in 1:54:44 (which is 3o seconds slower than my personal record, maybe next year if conditions are cooler).
anyways, it was a great race, I enjoy running, and I certainly appreciate the support from NEFA.

donations for today's race can be sent to my pay pal breck66@gmail.com or snail mailed to 17 Hancock St, Keene, NH. 03431

Thanks Dave!
Very appreciated, I hear you on the consistency, my game is consistently inconsistent, I'm not sure what that counts for, other than a fine appreciate for players more consistent than myself. It's all good though, I gave up the idea of paying my mortgage with my disc and race winnings a long time ago, although it is nice to dream big. A heartfelt appreciation for all you do on the behalf of our beloved game! You know you have a place to stay any time you want to road trip up to Otter Brook.
