Women of Webster Fish & Game - PDGA-C Tier ~May 16th, 2015

Post by Erin Tivnan »

Green Light Disc Golf has teamed up with women's ambassador Julie Ferdella to bring to you Women of Webster Fish & Game tournament.

A "Women Only" PDGA C-Tier Singles Event @ Webster Fish & Game.

May 16, 2015.

Mark your calendar ladies! :D

Sign up here! http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Women_of_Webster_Fish_2015

Women that are not members of the PDGA will only have to pay $5 fee (instead of the normal $10) for this event due to a grant they have to get different demographics to play fun events like this one for women only! This can then be applied to the yearly membership if you decide to join this year!

We have some amazing supporters of Women's Disc Golf- Our tee sign sponsors are as follows:

Maureen McErlean
Michael Zorovich
Jay Nourse
Amy Streeter
Aaron Kaczowka
Team Webster
DSP Computers
NEWDG
Bill MacWilliams
John Hollows
John Giampapa
Green Light Disc Golf
David Hoey
John Mucciarone/VSVN

We also have prizes donated for CTPs and for other things by:

Kelly Jenkins
Eleanor Anne
Becky Sonnheim
Kristi Bayer
Good Karma Disc Golf
Hawks Nest
John Mucciarone/VSVN
Erin Tivnan
Green Light Disc Golf
Poseidon's Ocean Treasures

We are some lucky ladies to have some great support!

Julie please post this on your facebook site. Seems like we don't even need a NEFA site nowadays. A while back someone thought it would be cool to do a team challenge type of concept where everybody would be welcomed. This was done to maintain a competitive aspect to new England's boring winter season. The concept was everyone could be involved men or women, black, white, who cares. I just had a lengthy conversation about my gf about his. I agree and disagree with her but we can both speak our minds. I really would love to see this tourney filled with females to promote the sport in which I truely love. I'm a person who has always had a strong opinon in what they feel is right and I know you do too. Would it be ok to hold 50 spots for the ladies by such and such a date and then let males maybe participate and help with the cause? Maybe the cause could be to implement new baskets at a school? I would like to help with this situation anyways I can. I would be willing to play, help, in whatever division I can.

Hi Joe. I appreciate your enthusiasm about this event but this is an event Julie and I created to fill the year between the Women's Global event that is held every other year. I would appreciate only positive feedback on this thread for helping to promote this event to GROW the women's side of the sport! If you want to discuss this further please start your own thread and discuss it there. Thank you!

KaBooM!!!

I'm glad the ladies are having this event in the off year of the womens global event and I'd like to offer up a couple CTP's to support this event.
I'm not sure what the CTP's will be, but one will be a disc for sure. The other I'll get creative.
Thanks Hollowpoint and Green Light for making this happen.

I know it was late notice, I tried to sneak it in.... I take it the CTP went unnoticed and unclaimed? :(

Hopefully the event was a big success.

Nice!!! I was hoping it didn't go unnoticed!

Also...After I starting thinking about it I was worried that the hole layouts hadn't changed at all.... and that hole 4 was long enough to be still be worthy of a 2-shot CTP. Would have felt kinda silly if it had changed to a shorty. :)

Please have the winner PM me with Paypal details and I'll send them their winnings today, or have them PM DMack Teetee on FB.

Side note: TT is looking to recruit a competitive lady to replace the one we are losing for next year's TC season. Please spread the word if you know of any ladies that are interested in playing TC next year and are having trouble finding an open spot on a team.

Thanks!

Ladies

Today at special Olympics event
It was insane on how many women enjoyed the sport more so then in years past

These players were from shrewsbury, fithcburg, sturbridge, chicopee area

We referred them to the fb page

I don't know how or who but I would suggest clinics around the area

Seeing an epic five hole sudden death playoff end with an ace by an eager group of girls who literally played for four hours straight was the highlight of our crews day well the hugs we got after a five foot putt by an older disabled man was right up there as well

But she was super pumped and had everyone sign the disc and take pictures

Anyways next year would be nice to have a lady of dg on scene as well as our demographic is most certainly female dominated now. Nikki king and Helen Franchi have volunteered in past and was great having a female around to work on hands on technique

Well summary girls are loving dg, clinics

Cya around
