Hole 6 is much shorter and 11 is brand new. There might be other smaller things that I didn't notice.

The forecast says rain in Sunday. While we do need rain bad I'd like to not play in it all day.

Be prepared for the fast turn!

This is the no lunch break Series! I'll have some snack food and fruit or something along with some water bottles. Anybody that leaves to grab something does do at own risk. Turn em and burn em!! Especially if we are trying to beat the rain.

Today Tully Mourns and we shall forever remember our first lady Sunni Lyman
It saddens me to the core of my soul to announce that a sudden loss this afternoon has occurred

Tully is where I met Sunni and over the years I have shared some wonderful times with the Lyman family
A casual league round with a cool fun person grew to a lifelong family friendship

I will forever enjoy the memories

I want everyone to know how awesome Sunni was that literally her last steps taken at Tully just today were with sticks in hand to a pile and trash for the barrel

Thanks Sunni for leaving me with another laugh today

Let us all be in spirit of Sunni have some FUN regardless of the conditions

I am no weather man, but I am pretty sure the rain is expected to hit this area late Saturday night and fizzle out Sunday AM. Hopefully we catch a shower during Round 1 and are dry the rest of the day. A dragan format would work in this case (noon start with no lunch) for possible rain free play.

I think I met them the first day they began throwing. They showed up on a Tuesday league night and joined the crowd. Guy had the exact date in his tagline for a while, and it always stuck with me that I just happened to be there when another family began their life with DG. I've always had an extra spot in my memory for the Lyman family because of that, whether they knew it or not. So sorry.

Gary, just trying to clarify. I know your signature says you don't like lunch breaks at tournaments, but the schedule on the first post does mention lunch in between rounds. Either way I am bringing food, I just want to know if I need to bring food that doesn't need to be kept cold and I can keep in my bag all day. Thanks.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

Really looks like it going to be wet!

Remember to bring yourselves some food. I have Pretzels, granola bars, mixed nuts, bananas and waters for players.

It does appear as if the worst rain is supposed to be in the afternoon. We'll push it as hard as we can with a 90 player field!!

I really want to thank all the Players that came out to support this event. It’s always great to see people enjoying themselves. When I sit down to do the reporting I’m always shocked by all the names I see and say to myself “wow, I never even saw that person”. I get so busy dealing with the day’s events and trying as hard as possible to still focus on being competitive, I’m sure people walk right by me and say stuff to me and I don’t even hear them.

Dave Stidham was a great man who lived his life as someone who gave more back than he ever got. I try hard to be like that knowing I’ll never get there.

This Series was important to him and he was important to me so I carry it on. But now it’s a different Series. It’s a Series of and by the players, and I’m just the face. Because he meant so much to us, we’ve continued it as a group of players. It’s so awesome to watch people jump in and help with everything! As the face of this event I can’t thank all of you enough. It’s the only thing that allows me to still play and be mildly competitive.

With all that said, I have something else to talk about. I’m not going to put any specific people on blast but I do need to get something off my chest. This is a low cost Series but, in actuality to each player it’s quite expensive. Here’s a list of some of the costs

$25 Nefa Sanction
$50 PDGA Sanction
$50 PDGA Insurance
$50 Course permit fee
$2 Dam Series fee
$2 PDGA per player fee
$1 NEFA per player fee
$1 Ace Pot per player fee
$1 Haiti Charity per player fee
$100 for Trophies
$150 CTP’s (Total of 6)

After all that the payouts are only so big and there are only so many CTP prizes to divide up between 88 players. Each CTP cost me $25.00. That’s my cost. I don’t upcharge it. We do what we can with what we have. I realize that we are not going to be all things to all people.

All prize pools would be much smaller if not for the $100.00 we got from very generous sponsors. The professional division had an entry pool of $900 with 20 players. After I take out all the fees and costs they are down to $690. Now just imagine how little money I actually have to work with in the Amateur divisions. The objective of these tournaments is to keep costs low and give Ratings and NEFA points. There's not a lot left over for payouts and CTP prizes. If you are not a PDGA and/or NEFA member getting the benefit of what this Series is about, then maybe this Series is not for you. You are always welcome but please remember the focus is about these things and in this order

Dave Stidham
Haiti
Fun and Comradery
Inexpensive Events
Ratings
NEFA Points
The Dam Series

The Funny Money results have been turned into Marshall Street. I've not gotten to the NEFA reporting or the PDGA reporting yet. Unlike last year I'm only doing Trophies for the 1st place winner of divisions with 10 or more players. The other Trophies are to much work and to much cost. This year the trophies are some type of hand blow shot glass. I've seen a picture of them. They are made by the same guy that makes the mini's.

Payouts will be posted on the PDGA page after I get this post up. Other information from the day:

CTP's

Hole #1 - All Pro Divisions - Mark Chapalonis
Hole #3 - All Rec and Women's Divisions - Jamie Perron
Hole #17 - All Rec and Womens Divisons - Julie Ferdella
Hole #2 - all Men's Divisons - John Williston
Hole #4 - All Am Men's Divisions - Greg McWilliams
Hole #16 All Pro Divisions - Gary Cyr

Ace pot ($88) was split by 4 players:

Hole #16 - Brad Ayotte
Hole #3 Bob Penny
Hole #3 - Kevin Lydon
Hole #4 - Greg McWilliams
Ace #21 - march 25th - Hole 16 @ tully - Ching Roc
