After a quick shift from the 4th of July weekend, teammaine BsR and Bittersweet Ridge Disc Golf will be hosting the 1st annual Bittersweet Open on September 6th.

~Right over the N. Yarmouth line on Rte 115 East off of the Gray exit on 95 for those heading up from the south

~For those traveling from mid-coast or Portland, the Yarmouth exit on 295, followed by a 15 min drive down 115 west

http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=6476

Player cap will be 90, registration is OPEN at DGU. Norma pdga refund protocol applies.
http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf ... rn_id/3004

Open $40
Advanced $25
Intermediate $20

Greens and pdga fees included for current members. Those are $5 and $3, respectively.

If you are not a current member, you will have to pay an extra $10 for a day membership.

$33 of Open entry to cash payouts - more may be added as we reel in some financial backers. Any added cash will be allocated equally (added cash is applied weighted by division depth) to ALL OPEN divisions!

Amateur divisions will be playing for trophies for 1st place, ams will be paid out per pdga protocol and with Dynamic Disc cred. Earnings will be emailed their code within a week of the tournament's conclusion. Probably a lot sooner.

Lots of giveaways, raffles (to help support teammaine travel & gear costs for 2016/17) and CTPs

Also, there's a bounty out on the following holes. In addition to any ace pot or 51 earnings, a player acing holes 1,3,5,10,12,15 & 18 will get an extra hundo.

As we get closer to the event, we will undoubtedly have some sponsors rolling in to help make the day a great time and have everyone leaving with something to remember the event by. If you are interested or know someone/company who may be interested in supporting the event, please contact jim tufts directly at maineplayerstour@gmail.com

Current sponsors / added cash:
The Tufts Team @ Coldwell Banker Team Real Estate Windham, ME $500

Hey Jim - We will just be using the front course (bsr1, the smaller course) as I don't think all pads will be set on the new course and I don't find it to be fair to play a course of that length without a proper launch zone. Lots of elevation and stretchy, technical holes that can be easily detracted from in their intent of play without proper footing off the box.

That said, the front course has a ton to offer and I've been granted permission to make use out of a half dozen extra sleeves. I hope to have a grip of alt placements ready for the tourney including an elongated 18, a less "safe" 3 (nearer OB) and a few others we can switch between rounds to create a harder 2nd round for everyone.

Hope this helps and your feedback on decisions is always welcome. Hope you can make it!

I've also updated the pre-reg list as we're at 22 now, I believe.

WE WILL ALSO LIKELY BE BUMPING THIS UP TO A B-TIER. Funds have been accrued to qualify it, and we're working to garner more sponsor dough to add to the fun. I will make this announcement by July 20th one way or another. We've already got $500 added.

I've been given the nod to proceed to b-tier. Things are shaping up and funds are rolling in thanks to toothy's hard work. More new by the week's end!

Update: :?:

We're working on a catering situation for lunch (+$), but all are welcome to swing the grub situation independently. However, options are limited in the area and we can't guarantee you'll be able to hit up a big mac and get back in time. Lunch orders will be a pre-first-round type of thing with this mystery lunch catering thing place we'll reveal shortly. 30 minutes shall be the clock from the last card in to the send-off for round deuce.

800+ added loot. Per pdga sanctioning rules, $500 will go to MPO. The other $300+ will be divided EQUALLY amongst other open divisions (weighted distribution by roster size, obv)

Working on locally sourced, custom blown glass awards for winner of each am division! Don't just walk home with a few discs you probably didn't want...something to KEEP.

bsr cup or something nice & permanent of the like for 1st in MPO. Player must attend bsr0.2, or forfeit the trophy no less than 2 weeks prior to the event. Engraving will be standardized (tbd) and will be the sole responsibility of the victor. Dude, it's only a few bucks. You got this.

players packs for ams will be way more useful and creative than a few discs ya might not throw.

payouts for ams will be in dynamic discs dollahs (choose your bounty!)

ctp's aplenty for the am side of things

cash ctp option for open divisions. $4 a head split between 2 holes (both will be reachable by ALL open divisions) pay in day-of.

Cash money bounty on the following holes for an ace ($100): 1,3,5,10,12,15,18

Any questions, errors spotted, suggestions or compliments are always welcome. They're most certainly fastest and best received by virtue of gmail. and that addy would be maineplayerstour at.

Hi Jim,

No problem - lunch worked out fine. Great tournament and fun course - thanks for all your efforts.

For the scoring on the DGU and PDGA sites, Joy Hartwell FGM had a 61, 62.

Thanks,
Steve
