Beauty Hill Live Free & Drive Tournament I on Aug 22

Post by Blaze Konefal »

Our first Life Free and Drive sanctioned tournament at The Woods at Beauty Hill in Barnstead, NH. We are having a different type of tournament to take advantage of our courses. NEW Since I do not believe that I will have 9 holes ready on the Cougar and the concerns people have about playing the Bobcat, the new format will be to play 2 rounds using the Lynx and the Cougar. Holes 6 through 18 will be played on the Lynx and 5 holes will be played on the Cougar. The Cougar holes will be played when you finish hole 12 on the Lynx. The first round will have mixed divisions. So you may want to think about what tee hole you want to start at. To facilitate this, you can pick your starting tee on the Lynx and to some degree who you play with for $5 (first come first served at sign in). Otherwise tee assignments are based on the goodwill of the tournament director! I expect to be setting up foursomes for most groups with a bias based on same division. All divisions will use Blue tees on the Lynx!!
Please register via DiscGolfUnited.com. $25 for Amateurs, $60 for pro ($35 goes to pro pot).
There will be an optional $2 Ace pot. I expect several Aces, especially on the Bobcat!
There will be an optional $2 CTP throwoff at the end of the tournament.
All standard NEFA divisions are offered. First place all divisions is a hand-lettered glass beer mug. Top 3 finishes all divisions get Lisa's jam!
A Lisa lunch is included!
Sign in ends at 9:30, Player meeting at 9:45, Start at 10.
Remember the Live Free & Drive playoffs start here in October so now is a good time to familiarize yourself with our courses!
Directions to the course can be found at WoodsAtBeautyHill.com
I am looking forward to seeing you!! Blaze - TD

How much of amateur entry fee goes toward expenses. I see pros are paying 25 to subsidize the efforts and expenses of the tournament directors, just wondering what cost the ams have toward the same expenses.

There's no AM payout, Mike, so it appears $25 from ALL players goes to expenses.

Love this place but that's hard to swallow (again)...

Our tournament fees have been unchanged for 4 years now. In an effort to reduce expenses, we are trying to have people buy a starting tee location. Any money from this will reduce our expenses and if it is significant we can add to the pro pot or have a ctp with it. Depends on how much we raise. Remember the LF&D fee is $5 per player, otherwise we could have reduced our fees. We are planning some changes for next year and expect them to help us reduce the fees as well. Currently all of the amateur fee of $25 covers expenses. At the recent NEFA tournament we had a "profit" of $16 after expenses.

To clarify, LFDT "fees" are deferred year-end payouts. The actual number is $5 for pro divisions, $3 advanced, and $1 intermediate.

Jim, Thank-you for clarifying the LF&D expense and your phone call. I had it wrong.
Also Please note that the format has changed.
I will not have 9 holes ready on the Cougar and players have expressed concerns about playing the Bobcat. So now play will consist of 2 rounds using the Lynx and the Cougar. Holes 6 through 18 will be used on the Lynx and holes 1 through 5 will be used on the Cougar. First round will have mixed divisions. We will update our web sites soon with this new information.

Thank you for your flexibility, Blaze! I think this will make a lot of players happy. I'll bump it on the LFDT facebook.
Best regards,
