The Blue Heron dgc

Post by James Reinle »

Finally got in the final hole, in the layout, of my home disc golf course, in Northampton. It will be mostly private, but I am seeking others, that want to play it with me. I am retired, so I am available a lot, to play. Jeff from Pure Flight, has played my course, when it was 16 holes, and still in its early stages. Give me a shout here if anyone is interested in playing.
I am also thinking of having a small doubles tourney here sometime.

James,

Is there any further info you can give us-- maps, pictures, description (type of baskets, tees, hole lengths, open, wooded, etc)?

Directions how to get there?

Thanks...--Mike

Sure, I'd like to play a new course in Western Mass.

I have to add some pictures of the rest of the holes, and arrange them, but here is a taste.

I am going to be playing today, starting somewhere between noon and 2 pm, my son, or maybe a friend or 2, anyone else? Probably going to play on Sunday too. Next week I will be available, but I will be skiing at least one of the days, at Okemo, I have a midweek pass there.

How many acres is this course?

Northampton is my "second" childhood town.

Growing up there while attending private boarding school. 8-)

I have 12.2 acres, but the course is on the front 8 or 9 acres.

I have setup an email for messages to play. blueherondgc@yahoo.com
The course has some snow on it at the moment, I have not been out on it recently, so I don't know how much of it is
disc hiding powder. I am going to walk the course with my etrex gps in the next couple of days to get all the tee and basket coordinates,
and see if it is playable.

I made up some scorecards using Microsoft paint, came out pretty good, too bad the ebay print cartridges in my printer are partially clogged, so the hole numbers, that were supposed to be red, came out gray. Added a picture of it to my Flickr pics of the course, linked in this thread.

Contact me on my course email blueherondgc@yahoo.com if you want to play a small impromptu league today. Start time would be between 4 and 5:15, depending on the interest, and consensus. Probably random doubles Colorado for odd numbered player.

Thats great!!
We met at PAge PArk a while back and you were telling me about this, I will definitely hit you up soon and come up with my son to play a round with you, it sounds great and thanks for doing this and putting it out there, it takes a lot to just invite strangers to your home, thanks
