Re: RFG Inaugural Events 8/28-29 TWO NEFA EVENTS *OPEN SPOTS*
Had a blast today, the course is amazing and lunch was great. WAY over my expectations. Will be a great place for TC and other tourneys.
I was going to stick around for a bit afterwards, went for a quick drive to get cell-reception for a phone call, and 5 miles later when I finally got coverage again I decided just to go home.

My son loved the night golf, and the two water holes were real fun! nice job Titan. Can't wait to get out there after work to check out the progress.
Just another old TullyRockStar livin' the dream...

Re: RFG Inaugural Events 8/28-29 TWO NEFA EVENTS *OPEN SPOTS*
I have 2 score ports worth of data to organize, a few NEFA fees to submit, and the spreadsheet for points
I first must get $$$ back to bank then over to paypal this may take 3-5 business days, as that account is just for this type of thing and is only one linked to my pay pal
So please be patient for final results, points and $$$ spreadsheet to be posted, rest assured it is being worked on
I grabbed most of your NEFA numbers and need to double check a few that may be missing
Thanks to everyone, lets just blanket the thank you to all course workers, club members who helped, players and significant others who attended this weekend or helped leading up to the events
I also want to say sorry to everyone if I seemed out of it, I was in severe pain 5minutes after the first event to 5 minutes after the 2nd event, the pain has reduced now and my eye feels much better although still sore and sensitive it is not near as bad as it was
The moon was awesome and glow lights looked great, they just bothered my eye so much
Everyone hear was apart of the trial run for future events to see what we need to improve logistically
It went way longer then I expected, fine but also not cool for the next day. Of course some will stay up and party by fire but that would then be their choice.
Glow, Next year the format changes to one of four options
1. Day night glow, start at 4pm play 18 in the light, break and more relaxed vibe, at 715pm start getting ready for 2nd round and play 18 glow. This will get us done by 11pm instead of 2:30amish
2. See if Nefa allows 27 hole events and just do 27 holes and start at 630pm
3. After event on Saturday and just have one long big day, not sure Ilike this option
4. Drop the nefa sanctioning and just do 18 holes, I am inclined to keep sanctioning as it was a draw
Option 1 is what I am leaning towards but would like feedback from the players!
Glow Design
The loop was great but the island hole was tough for lower divisions, ALT tee for these divisions for better chance of making it in bounds
Next year hole 1 of the actual RFG course is gone so we can then link through that portion as well and keep w/I rules of NEFA
Mow entire field
Glow sticks on top rim of baskets, more lighting on woods holes to define gaps
Next year I suspect this fills, and I can plan for things better, its tough with open spots logistically
CTPS, this may transition to players pack GLOW disc for AM's
Alcohol Consumption will be BAR ONLY from 5pm-9pm at Glow to keep w/I club rules, I understand and they understand about people bringing beers and such. We just can't flaunt as much. Coolers packed up during this time, and non club drinks need to be kept less visible. It was not an issue this year and they thought we did great job just want to make sure we don't cause an uproar
Camp Fire, I now know roughly what we will need, Have this all ready for fri/sat,It was fine but did take a bit of my attention from other things. The pit worked great though
Overall it was fun for the players and club was impressed and interest gained so success
Great crowd of people THANKS!!!!
RFG Shootout
Went pretty well actually
Hole 1 sucks for events but won't be an issue next year
Tees will be better
Signage will be better
More club support for transit to holes
Club members are now aware of distractions during play and will be more sensitive to the traveling around course and loud noises during play.
Beer and water out on course
Lunch, went good but we didn't expect that quick of a finish adjust cooktime a lil
My card selection for the 2nd round on 1 card was a mistake and was quickly made as we had an injury drop
This caused a 40minute delay for last card
The first round I had an open hole but needed to fill it as I missed 2 day of'son scoreport somehow and had to grab a player and send themto that hole it caused a back up on hole 8
We will adjust holes-8-10 soon as that was only real gripe Iheard from the masses, and is/was on our next thing to do list late Fall
Benches will be completed by next years event and this will help huge on the legs
Players packs willprob be implemented next year, This year we just didn't have time to work on logo/stamp etc so we went with cash CTPS, I will stick with the low fee and no payout but will offer player pack
Pro fee will increase
We will keep this NON pdga probably forever and offer a PDGA separate from this, as the spirit of the event does not match PDGA standards
Pictures we need pictures! from the weekend
REC tees will be in place by for holes 8,17 next year as well for all lower divsions(yes AM2's you also!!!), and that will help with speed of play
After event we will host random dubz on glow layout 1 round $10 lower division players will be allowed to throw from REC tees
This winter I have plans to make 6 baskets just forlower area of club for future low key loop anyways so baskets will be on scene and less of a hassle for myself and others
I think that about covers the weekend
Please add input, what you liked did not like
What you think would be cool or was overlooked
Over expectations or under?
I really want to know folks let it rip, it will only help us execute an even better weekend
Preserving the great, shaping the good to great, fixing the ugly and adding the awesome is what we want
next year I suspect this event fills quickly esp the glow event as field is limited
All winners of the weekend have reserved spots for next year already! and will be given time to sign up
Please check us out next year again and if lurking you messed up anyone there will tell you that moon and layout was super sick and fun.
I am sorry for that island green AM2 ladies, I overlooked that and I am sure it sucked!
Thanks and discuss

Hey Titan, if you can, could you do the NEFA score report sooner? We're trying to get early invites out for finals, and we want to include all the events from this past weekend. Its ok if the $$$ is sent a few days later. Thanks!

Re: RFG Inaugural Events 8/28-29 TWO NEFA EVENTS *OPEN SPOTS*
Here's my feedback from the event.
Short version: awesome.
not as short:
Seriously, everyone who was there said how amazing the course is, and was surprised how fair and clean it was. I can't speak to the glow round, but I can imagine that 36 holes in the dark would take a while. good thoughts on improving that.
Saturday's events went very smooth, obviously easier with the smaller field, but no complaints about anything. Food was great, we never ran into another group on the course. Agreed the random ATV driver was a bit odd.
The course is really good, I have no complaints about any holes, except the basket on 4 that spit out my ace that hit every chain and the pole. There's a couple Tee's that point a bit too far from the basket, but that is so minor compared to everything else. I have never played a course that young that played so clean and fair, and that was built by approximately 2 people. Word will definitely spread by everyone who played how good the course is.
The day was much better than you made it sound in your post Titan.

Re: RFG Inaugural Events 8/28-29 TWO NEFA EVENTS *OPEN SPOTS*
Thanks Bill!
That woulda been the first recorded ace on course grrrrrr
new hole and wonder if lack of rocks at base helped with that
the sick thing is even at PCC where the DN's came from always had pole spits
the chain sound is awesome on them but boy is it nerving to putt on them sometimes
been years through 2 courses and the verdict is still out for me
yes about tee base, when installed they will be better directed
some had low areas that needed to be brought way up with flatrocks and fill
the material appears to be where actual pads will be directed as it pops out
hole 7 comes to mind shorter hole on fast green
edit
I am hyper critical lol
and this from my end was truly not a celebration rather another workday to progress the course.....yeah yeah I am crazy
Camping with my daughter Thursday night for the first time was my relaxing break after a hard few years
When a few club members sign up for an event that is the day I celebrate course completion!!!!
(edit, speaking w/ Cupcake onphone earlier he made a great point, it would have taken years to get them up in the woods to play. Us bringing the action right to their domain helped speed the cause up drastically and by the end of the day Sat they wanted to go up in woods and watch shots)
Thanks again

and this from my end was truly not a celebration rather another workday to progress the course.....yeah yeah I am crazy

Re: RFG Inaugural Events 8/28-29 TWO NEFA EVENTS *OPEN SPOTS*
From the perspective of someone who stayed over after glow on Friday I think things were well timed and the layout was great. The supermoon made for a really cool feel on the field holes too
I can see how for the folks who left the timing was a bit late. I didn't realize just how late it was until I looked down at the clock while sitting by the fire and noticed it was past 4 AM
My fiancé struggled with the OB on hole 1 (as you noted earlier). Other than that I think you had a great 9 hole loop that was perfect for glow
We look forward to returning next year and having just as much fun

sorry for the confusion folks, I thought I already announced the event has been cancelled this year.
Time time time just not something I have much of this year.
Later in the Fall we will have a small members event.
Stay tuned and Thanks for the continued interest
Edit...speaking with GreenLight today and seeing the operation they have at the Blueberry jam..if they are around in the future this TD will be delegating this event to them
