After my video guide for how to choose the right driver for max distance I received lots of requests for a guide on choosing the right gram weight, so here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvpdTf_FjjM

Re: Best Disc Weight for Distance
When I played the Gold Course at Maple Hill with Paul McBeth and Phil Arthur in 2011 (or maybe it was 2012?) on the Monday after the event, I remember flipping through the discs in their bags on hole 11 tee asking what the longest range drivers were that they carried.
For Phil it was an Eco star Destroyer at 169g and for Paul it was also a star Destroyer at 169g.
It caught me off guard thinking these guys don't use max weight for their longest range drivers. It was explained to me that this weight works better to get the disc to stand up and glide better.
Funny thing was, my longest range driver that day was also a 169g first run star destroyer, signed by Paul and Phil.
Disc weight is very important and there are so many factors that come into play when selecting a discs weight, it's often best to try a variety of weights to see what suits your game best.
Remember this too: a straight, penetrating disc flight that varies as little as possible off the intended line often times is the most accurate flight resulting in greater success.
I liked the video.

I agree 169 always seems to be the longest
