Yup. Kev can play. They are gonna need him.
I never enforced the rule I set, basically to see how said rule would be handled given leniency.
Next time, I'll know better to stick to my word and not bend in the interest of fun.

And BTW Bro, that's not the team to be concerned about

I'll post resluts tomorrow.

I learned a lot from this league.
My absolute favorite thing I will take away from this league was how team Golf Clap played finals.
They played their original 4 players, knowing right well their alternate quite possibly could have won it for them. Stepping up like that and keeping the ringer at bay took sack and I have major respect for them doing it the way they did.
Thanks everyone for playing the league and thank you Team Golf Clap for restoring my faith in the fact that our customers/league participants are the very best disc golf has to offer.

John Gordon will be the last person to ever shoot off the 18 tee as we know it in a competition.
Yes, I'm putting in a runway and lengthening the 18 hole for Gold.

BooM!!!

Congrats to everyone who played this league according to the rules. Also congrats to the teams that made finals. Basically mutually exclusive categories.

Ha, Tim, great point. I've never quite figured out why we were asked to break up our team, and that team was allowed to roll on, but hats off to them because they played well when it counted.

Thanks for running another fun league, Dave. We will work out the wrinkles next time.

AJ, Sully, John, thanks for a great finals on Gold. That felt like a Vibram round. AJ...great work. Very smart, Vibram golfing out there.

First I was playing Am when this shindig started, lost my job and well that is synonymous with moving up I'm pretty sure. And second Dennis you nailed it. Most fun round of golds I may have played to date. You sir are a gentleman and a pleasure to play with. I can say confidently none of our card would have shot quite as well without you.

Most fun league ever..... If you're up in the air next season don't be! You won't regret it.

Hickson Donny Rob and Dave thanks for bringing me on board. TEAM HYPE!

So I will speak for all the jealous onlookers and mention that there is plenty of season left for a fall team league session. :!:

Sully. wow. Thank you.

Dave, as a project manager we always do a "lessons learned" right after the project so the possible improvements are still in our minds. So, maybe we should use this forum to talk about tweaks for the fall. I think we have one major question;

How do we make fair, even teams? Put less restrictions and just let people team with whomever they want? Or, more restrictions that use NEFA/PDGA ratings and set rules; 2 pros, 2 ams, etc.? Or, put all the names in a hat, separate by level and pull them out to create teams?

Other than that, what other changes would you make?

Oh hell yes we are going to run this thing in the fall.....

Start date: July 15th or 22nd(Tuesday's)
8 Consecutive weeks on tuesdays so it wraps up with finals in September, on a mostly GOLD layout. Of course, the layout is all about daylight availability.

Let's stack em up!!!!
Yes to teaming up with whomever you'd want.
I'd be very open to two divisions.
Rec and Open divisions.
The addition of a rec division would allow chopzillas to get in on the fun. They would play the RED course each week, with Finals on the RED/WHITE mix. That is if there is enough interest and teams to get the league rolling....

One BIG change would be that the $$ is paid, in full, before a team can start the league. $125/Team.

The league needs 8 teams so there is 1k in the pot. Without the 8 teams, it's not as cool. It's cool, just not enough.

I like your creativity, but I'd just let teams just form for the next round of this league.
Perhaps next year, using this draft concept could be cool. The only catch is, what if a player is drafted by someone they truly don't enjoy as a human being, let alone as a disc golfer?

July is the next round of the league. It will conclude before the end of september, so it won't interfere with the TC season.

I've learned from round one and round two will be even better. I promise.

Maybe let teams of 4 buy in for said amount then let people who don't get on a team pay said amount to be an alternate. Alternates money could go to food for the league or something. Maybe let weaker teams pick alts first or randomly distribute?

Just thoughts either way sick league!

I like the draft idea and maybe only allow a certain number of transactions add/drop or trade. I'm really interested in being involved in this the whole season this go around!

They become best friends. Just like that kid you fought in 4th grade a couple of times but then in 5th grade you invited him to your birthday party.

Plus teams don't golf together on the same card, right?

Do you need to like someone to win with them? In basketball maybe. In golf? Probably not.

I like your idea Tom.
However, after I dropped the kid in fourth grade, we never patched anything up. Just for the record, he started it

I know this about liking who your winning for:
I've won for over two years straight in TC in singles. My biggest motivation was to get a win on the board for my friends on Team Hyland and last year Team Buff. If it was simply for me, I probably would've folded up on a couple matches due to not caring about the win for myself.
Two years in a row I've played TC for my friends considerably more than playing for myself.
The season prior, my tc goals were different and so was my singles record.

I'm just a dink I'm sure, but I wouldn't play with anyone in this league other than Belanger, Tellier, Sullivan and Hickson, because they are very important friends of mine.

How about this for a rule, that will never really count:
All teams have to be friends off the DG course.

I am totally intrigued at the idea of a pool of players with a draft.
If we got enough people to agree to do the league this way, next spring, we will do it that way.

Keep the ideas coming. I love them and genuinely appreciate when people offer up ideas. It's how new events keep popping up at Maple Hill.

Triples event.
Skins game event.
Stableford Event.
Team league.
Points league.
More to come.

Like I've said before, you ain't seen nothing yet.
