I think we are going to go with an AM/PRO split day event. PRO on Saturday, AM on Sunday. Do people like this idea or stick with the two day combined format?

I like it the way it is. I can't play Sunday tournaments, and I'm sure not everyone else can. Or, switch it to am Saturday and pros Sunday.

A random thought, but if you split days with Am first it would entice those who finished tops in AM1 to play in pro the next day. Also could be cool to offer a paid entry for the top AM1 finisher to compete in Pro a la Vibram Open style.

I really liked the way this was set up last year...If this was a one day event, what layouts would be played? I liked how many different looks we got last year. Would be a real bummer for me if this was a one day event this year... not that I'm saying I wouldn't still play.

I agree with Cam and Josh. Rarely do we get to play tournaments in New England with more than 2 rounds. Love playing 3-4 different layouts too!

I agree with Cam Josh and Chris, not too many multiday tourneys around here with a cut line for us AM1s. Makes it feel like a bigger event.

Yes. For Am's that also want to play on Pro day, that is not an issue. If that person cashes in PRO, they would need to accept merch instead of cash to retain AM status. As long as the person playing on Pro day has not cashed in a pro division, signed up as a Pro for PDGA membership, and meets the ratings limit for the AM division they intend to play, then they can compete on Sunday as well.

From what I understand, denying cash prizes and registering PDGA as an Am (instead of Pro) only disqualifies a pro from playing Am in an NT or Major. For A, B, and C tiers only the rating (<970) is used to determine if a player is eligible for playing in Am1. I'm 944 and would like to play both days if I'm allowed.

I just want to play in as many tournaments and rounds as people will let me. Genuinely don't want to ruffle any feathers.

http://www.pdga.com/divisions
The PDGA Tour Player system also offers the following flexible playing opportunities for Pros and Ams, as outlined in the Player Divisions Table and in the PDGA Tour Standards: Pros below a certain player rating may compete in select Amateur divisions for prizes, and Amateurs may compete in Pro divisions but compete only for trophies or merchandise should place. (An Amateur accepting cash while playing in a Pro division relinquishes their Amateur status and becomes a Pro class player.)
