How can the NEWDG tournaments be a NEFA event? A NEFA event has to offer all divisons according to the charter.
This isn't me bashing on the women's series in any way. It's just the charter is the standards for all NEFA events.
You won't let a course have 2 NEFA events in the same year cause it's a rule. But now you are bending the rules for women?
If I wanna run a MPO series, can I have them all be NEFA events on the same days as other tournaments closer than 100 miles to another nefa points event on the same day?
My guess would be yes. Seeings how you aren't following the charter anymore

Re: Points series question
It's more of a special exception to the charter to get more women playing the game/NEFA events.

Women are already playing. I don't understand that statement.

Julie has pushed hard to promote womens golf across all divisions, not just FPO. So for 2016, we decided to try a special exemption to the one course per year rule.
Is there a specific instance you're speaking of? I'm not totally in tune with the entire NEFA schedule so I don't know if a scheduled NEWDG event is encroaching on the 100 mile rule. Per the Charter, TD's can agree to hold events less than 100 miles apart.Justin White wrote:If I wanna run a MPO series, can I have them all be NEFA events on the same days as other tournaments closer than 100 miles to another nefa points event on the same day?

Yes women are already playing. Around 20 are NEFA members across 3 divisions(FPO,FA1,FA2). We'd like to see those numbers grow. By comparison, there have been 80+ MPO players competing in NEFA events this year.Justin White wrote:Women are already playing. I don't understand that statement.

Re: Points series question
ideally it will turn out to benefit both NEWDG and NEFA short term: Women who would play in NEWDG events are enticed to join NEFA. And NEFA members would be encouraged to play in NEWDG events.
Longer term, it gives us a trial to see if there are ways to allow exceptions to the 1-event per year rule. We're experimenting with it this year, and will discuss expanding exceptions to other special events in the future. The trick will be wording the exception in such a way, that its used for special events, and not just as an excuse to hold 2 "regular" NEFA points events at each course.
The NEWDG exception probably should have made it into the charter, guess it got caught up in the underwriting department.
