Invites and Registration will be a little different and hopefully easier this year.
The number of initial invites per division/region is based on the ratios of the total number of members that have qualified for NEDGC (3+ events). These numbers are here:

Basically, we will open registration wait-list to everyone on a set day (probably 9/6 - need to confirm with Matt). And have 3 waves of taking people off of the waitlist onto the actual registration. This eliminates the question of who gets the next invite when someone declines.
The waves will be:
Wave 1: All players at or above the cut line, based on the numbers in the link above. We will round up all numbers.
Wave 2: The next 30% or so of players below the cut-line in each region/division. The 30% number is adjustable, will try to figure out the number that will sell-out with this wave.
Wave 3: Everyone else.
Here are the key dates:
9/6: Open NEDGC registration to everyone (all to waitlist)
9/11: Final NEFA Points event (Nantucket)
9/13: Standing finalized
9/13: Wave-1 players moved in from waitlist, and reg continues to be open, Wave-1 invites reg'd, all others waitlist
9/18: Wave-2 players moved in from waitlist (in order of registration), reg continues to be open, Wave 1&2 invites reg'd, all other waitlist
9/23: Reg open to all, starting with waitlist.
9/25: Matt spends all day issuing refunds.
10/1-2: NEDGC
