Leave the low riders at home

Post by Norm Fitzgerald »

As always with this event I try to encourage as much car pooling as possible ,due to the limited space for small or low cars to park , the road down to most of the parking and tourney central is pretty washed out at this time , trucks and suv's are fine . I will have signage posted da y of and as always it is imperative that any vehicle entering the farm GO SLOW PLEASE, and thak you

The Southern RI Championship weekend is in the books. All event reports are submitted and unofficial round ratings for both events can be found at the PDGA event site.

Thank you again to our generous sponsors. Grey Sail Brewing out of Westerly, RI, who has regional distribution here in New England, came through with beer for everyone on Saturday, which was enjoyed by all. Sons of Liberty kicked in a couple of their bottles of Vodka made in Wakefield, RI as a CTP contest. Innova discs for both events as our merch sponsor. Green Light Disc Golf for vending on site Sunday and the CTP prize on Sunday.

Thanks to Norm Fitzgerald for all the work at Willow Valley and Curtis Corner. Mike Carroll also put in a lot of work during his RI vacation earlier in July to help shore up some new tee boxes at Curtis Corner. Thanks to everyone else that helps these two courses exist throughout the year.

The competition was highlighted by Sam Henderson, who once again took this one wire to wire during both events. Sam set the course records at both courses, setting the bar at a 52 at Willow Valley and a 46 at South Kingstown. That was enough to solidfy Sam as the weekend overall Quahog Cup Championship, back-to-back years! He shot a 202 overall...which is just....stupid.

AJ Brunelle was the hot shooter on the AM side for the weekend, who took down the 2017 Quahog Cup - Advanced title, shooting a 233 over the weekend and edging out Derrick Smith by just three strokes!
