Yeah,

Andy, I hope you talked to Mike before this announcement, typically, you give the flexibility of declaring a date to the visitor seeing as they are the one that has to drive the longer distances, and make sacrifices for the entire day as opposed to the guys at home...

I remember the first year of this there was a protocol where the visiting team laid out atleast 2-3 dates they could make it with the minimum and the home team would choose.

Mike and I have had numerous pms about planning this date, and I had sent him a final one. I realize that we should work it out before I post the finalized date, that would be pretty stupid and presumptuous of me to tell them when they have to come to our course.
I think Mike's tone didnt do justice to the actual process that was undertaken to decide the date, it wasnt as if he is just finding out now. He was the one who initially proposed the 11th

Yeah Andy,

I was just making sure... I guess tone certainly gets lost in alot of electronic media... we had a similar sort of kinda issue with Team Nasa scheduling... where one date was thrown out there, albeit, Drew really doesnt know the work schedules of my team, heck, up until last weekend neither did I really, and we had to work it out... we did, and we shall have the first ever 12 on 12 matchup cuse we are the best in the world.

Excellent! Our first home challenge. Hmm, I'd better start laying those landmines and tripwires. Watch out, park rangers. :)

Since this is only our second Challenge ever, do the hosts usually provide lunch?

How's a mini-tailgate sound? I will bring my portable grill, burgers, dogs, buns, chips, condiments, and tailgate. Everyone can chip in a few dollars if you want or bring something potluck.

We'll setup in the area leading to hole 1 (where we were for the Ace Race).

If you are in a rush to get the day over with and would rather just get subs, that's fine with me too. Lemme know either way.

How many BLANDers are coming?

Borderlands did a mini tailgate for us (burgess) and it was great. That's what we're going to do when we host, home team chips in like $5-10 a piece and it feeds both teams. Wick had beer and whatnot last year and it was nice and I think every team is copying them now.

I like the tailgate idea. Perfect time of the year for it. Burgers, dogs and refreshments... oh yeah. Depending on the head count I think $5 per person from team Devens should suffice. Its a pretty sure bet that I'll have some extra adult beverages on hand as well.

Save you a trip.... yeah.. it would be a real bummer to HAVE to go to Borderland. Maybe you will be too embarrassed after this weekend... we understand.

Ha, this coming from a guy who plays at Devens more than his supposed home course of Borderlands. But, I understand. You have to keep up appearances for your old teammates even though you are now secretly part of Hillfolk Nation.

Don't fight it, Matt. :)

Hey everyone, I just tried my grill and it is not working properly (won't maintain the flame, and yes the tank is full). I'm going to try to fix it tonight, but it looks like it is boring subs for tomorrow. Sorry about that.

John, I replied to your email. I have a weber grill that we can use and I already have the charcoal. I will bring it up for tomorrow.

Hey Solbo-

I was wondering if you slept with your gore-tex gaiters on the night before a match.

You guys are going to realize the only Cape that matters is Canaveral.

Nice shooting Borderland !!! NASA was up 8-2 in the singles and botched the dubz 2-8 to push playoff holes where Burgess took it on the second hole. Im sure steve will have the details, they held tight and earned the win in the end.....

Well, we gave it the ole college try, that's for sure. Several doubles matches were one-stroke losses and a few singles went 16-18 holes to determine the winner. It was closer than it looks, but a loss is a loss!

Quote of the day spoken by a Devens team member, "Is that guy on our team?"

Thanks for coming up to the Hill, Borderlands.
