I did play like crap in the second round.
But also, the Doc and Dave Redlund's -11 tied for hot doubles round score.
Redlund is a machine. I played all 3 rounds with him and he was banging out putts from 60' and in consistently.

I picked up a beer when we were down 6-7 with 3-4 holes to go. At that point we had no shot.

And Joe,..if anybody owes any apologies it's me and Whitey. You see that score. Granted at the end we tried to make something happen and blasted a few long putts way by the basket. But we stunk!

Steve, that has nothing to do with the conversation. I already congratulated them on a great round, you want maybe I should send them some cookies? I got my butt whooped on the course and that doesn't happen that often. It's quiet humbling and not easy to take.

I'm talking about teamates drinking to much during a serious competiton, in a very tough battle. I admit I''ve played a few rounds against some competition in the challenges that, well provided I didn't fall down and break a leg I was gonna win. So Ya, maybe I've drank to much during a round. I'm simply suggesting that during our Match against Maple Hills (now critical that we win) and the finals, some people on the team (self included) refrain from drinking during the competition so we can hoist that trophy at the end.

Redlund and Dr's score has nothing to do with how I played, yes it was a great round.

I know it has nothing to do with how you played, just saying that it was the hot score from doubles....

Brian Harrington has tied it twice, and also, Timmy's was on the older layout.

Hmm.. Seems to me, that overall, Burgess is 2-1 against Buff head to head..

and 3-1 this year, with a h2h victory.. and on the fast track for first place. hmm.

sour grapes.

we all taste em from time to time.

I think the grapes were ripe when you got killed at Buff the last time you played there. At least we put up a fight on your home course. Hey, we will see who the better team is in the finals on a nuetral course. :D

Bob, In their defense the Burgess team was very different then. Either way the way I see it that win or loss has nothing to do with the finals just like the win they had last Sunday. Sure you could say they may start out up by a stroke do to the fact they came in first and us 2nd, but that is the only thing that the win on Sunday gets them. It like Fitzy said, the Lombardi trophy doesn't say "only undefeated teams need apply" The prize is in winning the trophy. The only thing we lost, (more than likely) is the chance to have our entry fee returned and we're down by a stroke at the start of the finals.

Yup First year in the League.

Brian and Todd earned points that day.

The other 4 that didnt still are on the team. (Me, Andy, Ralph and Drew)

Things have changed since November 5th, 2005 for Team Burgess.

1. Drew went from losing to JZ at Buff 8&6, to losing to Tim Walsh, at Burgess, 2&1. This was Drew's 4th or 5th month of playing disc golf.
2. Team Burgess adds the likes of Dave Redlund, Eric Pleso, Troy Manni, Matt Mederios and Chris Irvine
3. Josh Rogers was not there for that challenge.
4. That day Todd earned 1 point, and Brian earned 1 point...
This past weekend, Todd earned 1 point, as did Brian.. the rest of the team picked up 11 pts...
5. Ratings for our "top 6" have gone up significantly since starting to play in this league, and tournies in general.

And this was no fluke... we arent happy with regular season victories, we want the whole DAMN THING.

See you guys at finals.

Like I said before, the camaraderie was there this weekend, and it was just as good as matches... see most of you at the Ice Bowl this weekend, and definitely at Finals.

Thanks for the backup Gary, I must admit, this team has come a long way. And there is a little rivalry brewing here between us and you guys, and THAT is what makes this league FUN!

PS, Gary's right.. victory is nice.. but it don't matter unless we get that shiny trophy at the end of the year!
