Borderland @ Tolland in March

Post by Mike Dussault »

Thought I would start a thread for the challenge. We had Allen and I had discussed Saturday, March 8th as a possible date.

Lets hear it from the players, would a saturday or sunday be preferable? With the tournament season starting it will be hard to find a date without conflict. We need atleast 6 v 6.

Well,

Tourney 54 is in weekend #one and West Thompson is in weekend # five for me.

Other people will be playing Vineyard and Minuteman.......

People are asking for Sundays...........

Sounds like Sunday, March 9th is the PC date.

Why not Saturday March 8th? With a Saturday date we have Sunday to relax before heading back to the grind.

No word from Tolland's Capitan on here? What say you? We will rally at least 6 for the 8th.

It will be here sooner than you think.

 Six for Saturday, hope nobody drops out.

I am polling the team to see if Sunday might bring better numbers. Would Tolland be willing to host either day? Let me know, I will have a definite answer by Wednesday.

ok by my calculations on Saturday we will have:

Allen
Shawn Mullen
Zak Brown
Dave Mourad
Dan Mack
Shane Peters
Pat Barnett
Steve G.
Jeff Laterreur

I think that is all.

Sunday would bring for sure

Allen
Shawn
Zak
Jeff
Steve G.

Shane?
Dave?
Smolin?

DMack and Pat B. are a no for sure on Sunday

So we are for sure good on Saturday but if the question mark people can make it Sunday we will be good for Sunday and as far as I'm concerned that is OK.

This is what I see for weather when I google it up:

Saturday - Partly sunny. A chance of rain showers and freezing rain in the morning...then a chance of rain showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40s. Chance of precipitation 40 percent.

Sunday - Sunny. Highs in the upper 30s.

Maybe those in Connecticut could give us a better idea from the local guys but I like Sunday weather wise ... besides the fact that I can't play on Saturday :D

It looks like it was unoffically decided for this Saturday the 8th, a week or maybe even more ago. A little late to change it now? Opinions? comments? Been planning on playing this Saturday for sumtyme. Besides the fact I can't play on Sunday

We are considering the change because we would not be able to get enough players there on Saturday.

A change would be good for me too...I have a wake to go to on Friday eve and will likely attend the funeral on Saturday as well.

Also daylight savings time is Sunday, so anything March 9th and beyond will have the benefit of some extra light.

Based on the posts so far, looks like we will have a six vs. six challenge on Sunday the 9th of March. Both teams are able to field six players minimum on Sunday, and the added daylight makes it preferable.
I say we go for a 10:00 am start time, since that will be the new 9:00 am.
Sorry for the late change of date. These challenges can be quite the pain to plan. Thanks to Tolland captain and players for being understanding and tolerant of the late switcheroo. I am looking forward to checking out a new course.

With all due respect to everyone...

BUNK I say, BUNK! Three days before the challenge you inform everyone? Or this a strategic "We would not be able to get enough players there on Saturday"? AAAnd the time change? You want to make the challenge AT Borderland too?

:x Don't make me angry, you won't like me when I'm angry.

If it changes to Sunday good luck to all. No, I don't really mean that :P

Pat I feel ya man. But personally I'd like to play sunday so we can have a match, that way no one needs to forfeit or anything like that. I look forward to these things. We COULD just say f-you boarderland it's saturday, like it or not. But I'm not like that, I'd rather play and whip their azzes on sunday.
