Team Wick/Tolland carpool to Barre

Post by Stephen Ditter »

I usually drive 91 North to Barre however, google maps is sending me rt 84 east. Any suggestions on which way is best? Does anyone want to carpool this Sunday?

Ditter, the problem w/ courses that are in the middle of nowhere is... they are. As you know, the Quabbin Resevoir stands between 91 and 84; there's no quick way to get to Barre, so personally, I'd take 84 to the Mass Pike, then 49 N, to 31 N, then 122 N, which leads to Barre Ctr. Then it's 62 east for a few miles, the dam is on the right. Unless you wanted all highway, then skip the smaller roads and head straight to 290, then 122N.

If you wanted a challenge, as you get out of Rutland st park, a mile or so past 148, take Coldbrook Rd (dirt road), that'll take you to the kiosk.

Not that getting to Barre isn't a challenge already......

good luck and I'll probably see you Friday. -jimbo

CT to Barre

Post by Dan Hale »

I think you'd catch 49 off of Rt 20, so you would skip the Pike if you were following Jim's directions.....

last week on the way back to Vernon from Barre we took 32S all the way into CT....it was scenic and not that bad of a ride....it was a touch over an hour

Team Wick should definately roll together....

I'm up for the caravan. Mullen and I headed to the course today. It takes around an hour and some change from exit 67. The garmin had us making some crazy turns, but it all worked out in the end.

Where are we meeting, commuter lot or Jesse's house?

How about meeting in the exit 67-69 area around 7:30? That would give us about an hour of warm-up time before the players meeting.

I have 2 couches, 1 futon and a spare queen. Heading east on 84 take exit 69......right off exit.....second driveway on right

7;30 works for me....don't mind leaving earlier.

let's try to leave by 7:30....I'll be up early and waiting

From the tunnel in Hartford it's about 20 minutes to my house if your a fast driver....15 from Wickham exit

exit 69....second right...Can't see house from road well but it's a beige Contempory.....driveway is on a downhill corner between sharp turn street arrows....1554 on mailbox across street . I think I'm the last driveway in Tolland before you hit Willington. See ya in Morning

I have a small car but am willing to drive....we may may be looking at a few vechiles

If anyone knows Mark Lyons number give him a call.

I called him around 7 about the carpool and left a message.

I'd leave his number here to phone bomb him but that doesn't seem quite fair.

Apparently his was MIA from Crane Hill workday as well...

Patrick I believe I'll be heading up 91 for the most part.

Looking forward to this.

Jesse, I'm confused on the directions to your house. Is it a right off the exit, then take the second "street" on the right, or "driveway" on the right?
