people were saying it was a controlled burn.

I heard from someone at thursday league that it was found by some regular golfers and hikers who stamped it out and then the fire dept showed up to finish the process. I think it was unknown how it started.

Careless smoking would be a likely cause if they dont suspect kids starting a fire. I heard on the radio that there have been over 130 brush fires in the past week in MA.

controlled burn, kid that played a round before i showed up saw them doing it....
