I'll be heading to the Barre dam this week with a trash bag to pick up all the empties strewn about. It's only a matter of time before a public course is closed due to boneheads who don't know what trash cans look like.

Jim, I'm heading up to Barre tonight after work. Care to join me for a short round. I'll bring a trashbag with me to help out the cause. No way do I want to lose Barre due to litterbugs. By the way, just a heads up. I noticed you are now eligible for the NEFA finals, but you need to respond before 6:00 p.m. tonight.

Thanks for the heads up, Arty, but I had to cancel; we already had plans for this weekend. I didn't get your message till late, but Thursdays are out for playing because my wife goes in to work for 5:00, so I gotta be home to make sure the kids don't kill eachother. Good luck at the finals and hopefully we can hook up to play in the near future. What town do you live in??

Thanks Jim. I'm going to need all the luck I can get. I'm matched up against "always steady" Marielle in the first round. I'm looking forward to it. I did make it up to Barre last night and I did bring my trashbag with me. With the exception of the tee pad areas on holes 10 and 13 the place was looking fairly immaculate (I only had to dump the trashbag once). You must be doing your part. There is someone up there who likes Red Stripe because I've been finding his/her empties on quite a few occasions. Funny thing is I happen to love Red Stripe myself, but I am courteous enough to throw the empties in one of the numerous receptacles when I play. Be on the lookout for the Red Stripe Litterbug not to be confused with me (Arty). By the way, to answer your question, I live in Fitchburg, but I'm thinking of putting a mailbox up at Barre Falls Dam...
