New Course at Boy Scout camp in Paxton needs baskets

Also the place for aces, near aces, beautiful birdies and enormous eagles.

New Course at Boy Scout camp in Paxton needs baskets

Post by Jason Southwick »

Treasure Valley Scout Reservation, a Boy Scout Camp in Paxton, is looking to borrow disc golf practice baskets for the summer.

At first, access to the course will be just for the Scouts, but the camp powers that be are hoping to expand this initial effort into a permanent public course in the future.

Anyone who can part with their practice basket for the summer, please contact me, or:

Bob Laflamme: ralafamme@live.com.

All contributions are greatly appreciated. Already five baskets have been secured for the summer for the nine-hole course being built.

Jason,

I'm an Eagle Scout and went to Treasure Valley a lot. I am very interested in helping out with this as I have been pushing disc golf on Scouting for some time now. I do not have a basket to donate, but would like to help out in any other way, namely building the course since I have knowledge of the area. Should I contact Bob Laflamme directly?

Hi Mike,

Sorry I've been so long getting back to you. Well, I'm heading out there tomorrow to set up the initial course. Tom Southwick just donated his tire basket, so I think we're up to six.

Let me know when you're going to be either in my neighborhood or at a Buff league and I can pick up the basket from you then.

Thom Carr, Heather and I installed a nine-hole course at Treasure Valley Boy Scout Camp on Saturday. The holes are about 200 feet long. We still need two baskets.

Thanks Seamus Scanlon for dropping off your practice target there on Satuday morning.

Darnit, I missed your reply to just now, Jason.

I will definitely have to get out there soon and check it out. My troop is there at the end of the month, so maybe I'll try to organize a workshop for them or something.
