Who made the call from the group in front of you.
If anything, someone should have called Joe.. seeing as he's got a vested interest in the outcome, he could have called me, or someone else whom is involved..
I can only imagine the outfall, if Mape had won by 1....

Jason Southwick wrote:That was weird. I was in Gary's group and everyone was starting. Someone in our group had a watch that said 9:25. What do you do? I asked. Brent and Dave Jackson didn't know. We were on Hole 2, and I walked up the fairway and asked a random group of team challenge players what usually happens when someone doesn't show up.
Someone said he loses every hole he's not present for. Okay, so we started, maybe one or two minutes early, though who can be sure.
Gary shows up after we played three holes, and wasn't too happy. He was pretty sure we must have started early. Then, already three strokes down, he proceeded to quickly lose another three holes. The way he was talking and the expression on his face suggested this may be a contested ruling.
So, Gary got hot and Dave Jackson got cold, and with two holes left those two were tied. I asked Gary at that point if he would accept the outcome no matter what happened. Gary say "yes," then proceeded to lose the next two holes and the match.
Yup, that's how it happened. I decided that with the responses that I got from my group which included the Captain of the other team that this was a futile effort. And, I don't believe that anybody in my group had to ask anybody what happens when somebody is not present for the start of competition.
At that point you could have stopped and waited but you are not required to do so. But you could have. During our discussion about what happened, even when I mentioned that I went back home to get the grill, it didn't seem like you were moving off your decision.
The point to this now is that you can't pick and choose what rules you want to enforce. And you can't decide to start early unless you have given proper notice. 5 minutes does not constitute "proper notice"
So if you were penalizing me with loss of hole,..did I get my 30 seconds?
Nobody seems to want to answer that?
Nobody is going to die over the situation that happened. I just want to make sure it doesn't happen again. Team challenges should be a little more flexible. You know why I show up at least 30 minutes before a tournament. Because there are rules about the start time. When I made the decision to turn around to get the grill. I knew I would probably make it just in time or be a couple minutes late. I could have just said screw it. But, I thought of the greater good,..and all the people involved.
I don't feel as if the way I was treated reciprocated the decision I made,..but yes I was late.

A whole lot of pissin' and moanin' would'nt you say.
You guys came down the stretch, with amazing pressure putting by Bear and won. Why highlight the lowlights. I hope the memories of yesterday's match won't only be a missed <20' putt and not starting the match on time. Does anyone remember the chicken we had @ the lunch break???
