Heres what we got for the 30th so far:
Brad --in

OD --in
Bill --in
Dena --in
Keith B--in
Andrew--in
Peter --in
Keith C.--in
Eric --in
Jim --in
Kevin --in

Looks like we have 15 in. Can anybody get a hold of Scott and Dave? Hopefully they are at league tomorrow. We have 17 total players, should we have 3 more as alternates or not even worry about it?

This is what the Burgess Park tags look like.
Image
Makes me think we could use something like my 1st design, with the hawk landing on the basket over the city, as a tag design. Possibly a good sticker too.
I'm not sure that would look good on team gear though. A lot of times simpler designs look classier. If everyone else likes the design idea, I'm gonna try a couple changes to see if I can make it into a better team gear logo. Will try to have a couple prototypes done by Saturday.
(Although personally think just the hawk emroidered on our gear with the "Team Newton Hill" underneath would be pretty sick too).
Let's hear everyone's thoughts. I could come up with different designs as well, if people have any good ideas that don't involve a lot of artwork. Or if someone else can make a cool logo, do it.

Scott Lamarche is in for the challenge. Looks like all hands on deck.

I personally don't think we need to worry about alternates, at least not now. People will have to sit out if we have over 16 people or have more players than the other team. That would suck for someone who made themselves available to the team for the whole day.
Dave M is the only person who hasn't responded about the 30th. If he's in, that gives us 17 we're sitting someone anyway.

Hate to be a downer, I won't be able to play for team Newton Hill this year. I love the course, but it is a bit farther than my home course. Wishing you guys the best of luck this season and live it up, team challenge is a blast and a half

Those designs are cool! I cannot draw a stick figure very well. There are 3 maybe 4 signature buildings in the Worcester skyline, The white, the glass, town hall and St Pauls on the hill. Here is a cool shot?

And this one.

Weather's not looking too good for tomorrow. What's everyone thinking? I'm still in for playing regardless of the conditions.
If the rain is bad in the AM and nobody wants to play, then people are still welcome to come over at 3:00. Worse comes to worst we can hang out inside, drink a couple brews, and talk some disc golf.

I'm going to be at work so if its pretty bad I'm just going to keep working. I'm down to hang out or play in the afternoon. I guess we will just exchange texts in the am.

Also, we had a very good team meeting today.. played a doubles round and we have created a couple of good pairings.. excited about the potential of this season.. for those that missed it or had to leave early, i give a big thanks to Jeff and Liz for hosting a BBQ for the team.. i have an idea on what style of clothing to get and the team colors.. i will be working on getting this stuff made.. if you guys can email me newtonhilldgc@gmail.com your vest and shirt sizes with any other info you think may help me make this better... we do need to work on the food aspect.. throw out on the thread what y'all can contribute to the first match eats.. we will call the dubz 46 scored today a 2011 season record that i hope is beat by our team this season.. and i would like to have one more team gathering on columbus day monday, thoughts...

Loving it guys... That first idea for the logo from Jeff is probably the strongest so far and I especially like that little splash of greens. Anybody have ideas for particular colors? The obvious choice is green on red but we don't want to look like xmas. Maybe black with red outlining (and hawk) and the green.

We had a discussion on this at the meeting. Burgundy was the popular vote, representing our mascot the Red Tailed Hawk.

Not sure it's gonna happen Brad. My first attempt is lookin way too much like the NBC logo (which is a little...ummm...colorful. Maybe a better logo for Team Crane Hill)

I'll give another shot at it, but am doubtful I can come up with anything worthy of The Newton Hill Hawks disc golf team. I got a couple of other ideas for a logo that are in the works. I can post the favorites and people can vote.
