I should have shot better at the Ice Bowl.
Bob should have asked to see that girl's ID.
Dussault should have stuck to disc.
I know shoulda, would, coulda,..and "if I",.. like nobody else could say that in their game.
Like in my 127,..I hit every pin,..I didn't miss any shots. The game was perfect! You shoulda seen it!! I'm not sure how I could ever improve on it.
127 Fellas,...Eat it,..till you beat it!!

First strike would be good except we have a few "strikeless" bowlers.
What we use to do that made it fair for all the bowlers,
Was to have a drawing before starting to Bowl-- first was the box Number next was number of pins between 4-10
Example: 6th Box and a 7- So you take your first ball on box #6 if you get a 7 you win the Jackpot- if no one wins it carries over to next week.
Its a lot simpler than it sounds and gives everyone a good chance to win.

Steve, I think the majority of us feel that kid Dave's scores probably shouldn't count for our team until he comes to bowl with our team. He comes to bowl with his buddies and we happen to be there.
When he came to league that one time, he played with us which is what made his scores count ... if he had gone off with his friends and played then that would be a different story.
Maybe I'm wrong but that's the vibe that I'm getting ... do as you guys wish.

Anybody referred to as "That Kid Dave" is obviously not part of the regular crew.
Leave it to the fine upstanding true gambler Rob Tatro to point out the fact the someone souldn't be included. The guy probably doesn't even own a disc!
Maybe we can walk up and down the alley's tonight and find our "That guy (insert name here)" that's a member of our (cough) team.
"Fake it till you make it",...and "Eat it,..till you beat it"
Gotta say, this thread has provided me with opportunities for some of the best trash talk I've come up with in months.
Now if I could just beat Dussault in disc I could make fun of him there too.
Not two handed between the legs Mikey!!!

I like the idea of a strike pot as it is the only thing that I can think of in bowling that may be somewhat comparable to an ace pot. I'm not sure if I drew a 6 in the 7 frame that I would be too psyched to actually want to throw a 6 on my first ball ... I'm aiming for strikes - always!
I understand that we may have some players who have not yet hit a strike but it is always available, every single time you step up to a new rack. Our ace pots in disc golf are available to anyone who steps up to the tee as long as they put in for it which is a personal choice ... there are players who are more likely to hit one than others but it is available for everyone to play for if they so choose.
Your idea brings up an interesting possibility though Dave ... what if we tried to make the strike pot a little more progressive piggy backing on your idea?
How about we make the strike pot $1. During week 1, your strike needs to bowled in the first frame ... if no one hits it, it rolls over to week 2 where the pot is up for grabs in the second frame and so on. The pot could grow over time and get quite bit ... once a strike is hit in the appropriate frame, the strike pot is reset and it starts all over again.
Thoughts?
Oh and by the way ... dinner with a view next week -- 5:30 at the lady for sure

I like the strike pot idea, here are a couple of things from a friend of mine that bowls in a league
$1.00 strike pool- 3 strikes in a row the pool can build up to 6-$700.00 before someone hits it.(this works when you take all the leagues at an alley 60-70 bowlers get in a week)
$1.00 that pins in the box in mentionened earlier, the way we did it in the league is we stopped bowling and one person from each team (ten teams)took a shot at it, so it didn't count on your score.
$1.00 strike pool, another drawing when you start for the night you(all) get a box and string drawn- 2nd string 7th box- if you get a strike in that box you win the jackpot- gets up to 30-$50.00
Maybe we can take $10.00 for the Bowling and add the extra $3.25 towards some kinds of pools?

Jason, you should show up. We meet at the alley on Mondays at 6:30. Some people bowl only two strings, others bowl as many as 4. Bowling at Westgate is half price; 2.50 for shoes, and 2.50 per string. Plenty of fun and low stress environs. Be good to have another B-land Bowler.
By the way, I like the name Brockton ROCS.

rte 106 to Route 24 To Westgate... 16 miles or so... 35-40 minutes... ecspecially since I leave at rush hour on 106... about 5:30... trust me... I time it, and have the Garmin which is spot on everytime.
I am more like 20-23 minutes from Borderlands, all rte 106...
