Re: 2011-12 Season discussions
With 19 guys there not all gunna play both rounds. Why should my girl be any different. Girl on girl is like a different division in the TC. But when it comes to dubs it's gunna be a match up thing when I decide who plays. So what I'm saying is it's not fare to the other guys on my team to have to play my girl both rounds.

I love this talk about "abusing rules" crap. In the past other teams that didn't have a girl had absolutely no problem playing a guy against Leslie. Now that there is talk of a rule, it's all "girl vs girl mandatory or bust"....
Know what? We currently have no girl and we might not even have one at all. Not our fault. Penalize us all you want, hell make us forfeit a match completely if we don't bring one. This subject is very tired, and for me, going to bed!

Re: 2011-12 Season discussions
I understand rules are rules - I also think we need to have some trust in our fellow captains that we are all playing on the up and up.
If we are going to make these rules we need to be careful not to be insulting to our women. The woman I have talked to want to be treated like any other member of the team and not treated as a separate entity or like they are just filling a mandatory spot.
I was against the 3 pt penalty because I know first hand the difficulty for some teams to find a woman despite their best efforts.
On the other hand I would rather have the 3 point penalty than have the woman throw from the short tees or give them a 3 point lead. Our woman would be insulted and she wouldn't want it. For me it's like when I played AM2 and I had to play a different layout than the AM1/pro players - I hated it!!

I agree 100%. You have a girl, you play when appropriate. I am talking about teams that dont have a girl and dont bring one.

As soon as I read this I immediately was reminded of that kid that sticks his toungue out, puts his thumbs in his ears, waves his hands back and forth, and says "na - na - nana - na - naaaaaaa, we have girls and you don't!" Dakai, why don't you stop with the insults to teams with no women available to play. You aren't helping and only pissing off the other teams.

So, no plans to follow the rules? Interesting.
I think we should re visit the mando girl rule if some teams refuse to follow it.

Re: 2011-12 Season discussions
Here's an alternative to strokes or short tees.
If a team fails to bring the mandatory woman:
1) Forfeit in singles match (1 point)
2) No points penalty for doubles match, but team must play with an empty spot. In other words, guy/girl versus guy only (no woman). Match is still worth 2 points.
In doubles, it would be tough for a team w/out a woman to win the match, but still possible. The solo guy would have to play straight up (NOT Cali).
Note that in every match we played last year both teams were able to field a lady.

I have 2 girls on Team Buff. I don't plan on not having one for a challenge and don't plan on getting penalized. I just think if you penalize a team anything more than the 1 point it's too much. Seeing how last year there was no penalty the 1 point is a good start.
Simple and easy fix.IMHO

How about this:
1 point for singles,Thats fair.
No penalty dubs, I can see that would be too much.
But if you dont get a girl qualified for finals you cant come.

Re-visit?????????? This is the current topic, or aren't you paying attention?
What I have said numerous times, which you clearly aren't understanding, is that we aren't opting to have no girl. We simply DON'T HAVE ANY IN OUR AREA THAT ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING. Can you understand that please?
Why don't you put forward a rule that if you don't have a female on your roster, you can't play TC! I for one, wouldn't be broken hearted. This whole topic is completely offensive man.

kelly.. i've seen girls play at northampton. There's plenty of gals that play at crane, which is your second home. Your other home is a COLLEGE CAMPUS (HCC). Your home course, nono, is a mile away from an ALL GIRLS COLLEGE.
I dig ya man, I know that ish can get heated so I'm not trying to pick a fight but there's no chance I believe that you can't find a girl to play for your team..
If nono has to withdraw then withdraw. It will definitely mess things up but I assume it will just grant all the teams with nono on schedule a bye...
Being a captain is kinda work bro... You took this on at the beginning of the season. It doesn't seem like you're willing to put in the work to make team nono tick.
Let down everyone in noho who thinks they're playing team challenge this year or spend a little time networking and finding a girl to play. Seriously man not THAT hard...

I don't know any, and if you know of any please let me know...and I didn't take on the role of captain, Juano is technically still our captain. This is TC and for me not a part of my life that I wish to stress and utilize hours of my time recruiting, and going to women's college campuses and advertising for a league that doesn't really mean much other than bragging rights. Not for this league...for what, for who? In the end of all things this league is peanuts man. Not worth the gray hairs.

Thanks for the lookout. I don't do TC for the love of the league though. I have made it completely clear that I don't love TC with the current structure. Maybe I would love it more if it were one big league, but it isn't, so I don't. I only do TC with the current structure, to keep myself busy during winter...nothing more.

1 pt penalty singles
for dubs - i like what John said about an open spot - 1 male (not cali) vs coed team
Finals - no female qualified? -worst female score +1

that was great make counter accusations and stir the ish .when you speak to somebody by name and tell them to shut up that's making it personal.
your opinions mean nothing to me I still listen to them. it's a discussion board you won't agree with everybody telling them to stop talking not right.
do I think that teams are putting out less than their best effort to get a girl? Yes
in the end it doesn't matter we will crush you all anyways .it just sucks for are female player because she'll have no 1 to play against.
I will stop being a good captain now n step in line and do as I'm told over and out .

Re: 2011-12 Season discussions
we are still looking for a girl....i am hoping to find one for the season.... it is hard in central CT to find a girl who wants to play at this kind of competitive level let alone it be in the winter...
but we are working at it....
i take some offense to the statement teams are not doing their part looking to put a female on the roster.
I really don't think the teams who are looking for girls are not adding one to get a edge...i think it is becoming harder and harder to find a girl who wants to play competitive disc golf in the winter.

again.. if the spot is reserved for a female, then there need to be a penalty for not having one.. if we dont then we are saying that the woman is a backup if we need her.. how fair is that? this should have all been discussed during the roster size debate.. i also think that if neither team has a female to represent their team than there are 3 points neither team gets making max points per match 29

Hey sorry if I've offended anyone on here... That definitely wasn't my intention.. I suppose it could just be that hard for some teams to find a girl.. And honestly I dunno what the response should be..
I like John's approach as well.. I mean I can get along with anything we choose, I just think that only a 1 point penalty might be a little light. If the rest of the captains think that's legit then I def won't stand in the way..
It'd be nice to get as big a majority as possible on board with a decision.. I got confidence in us battling through this obstacle.. no biggie

I think this is fair ONLY if a girl plays in singles, otherwise it shouldn't matter.
