Keep in mind, in 1991, the Bruins won the first two games in Boston before Pittsburgh went home and turned momentum around. Of course, there was also that little incident where Ulf Samuelsson tried to take Cam Neely's leg off in Game 3, which nullified Neely for the series, caused him to miss most of the next two seasons, and prematurely ended his career. So who is Cooke going to take out in order for history to repeat itself? Bergeron? Seguin? Lucic?
But yeah, keep all your hope in repeating the events of 22 years ago.

Bergeron is the man. He only wins games. Campbell plays with a broken leg. Guts and glory. Rask shuts the door. Two goals allowed in three games.

So tired this morning but who cares. What an amazing game last night. A goal made possible by a 40 year old guy battling his ass off along the boards in a 2 OT game. I love playoff hockey so much.
The vaunted Penguins offense has scored 2 goals in 215 minutes this series.

Re: NHL 2011-12
A few months ago I planned a trip to Pittsburgh this weekend to see a nationally touring jamband concert on Saturday night.
By coincidence, game 5 of this series is scheduled for the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Sunday Jun 9th at 8:00 PM.
Game 5 WILL be necessary. I just booked my hotel room for an additional night.

Might want to rethink it Jeff. It might go to a game 5, maybe, maybe even 6, but that is as far as it will get.
Good regular season Pens.

Re: NHL 2011-12
Outscoring them 11-2 through 3 games is pretty impressive especially considering the Pens were scoring at a record breaking clip coming into this series.
Who do you want in the finals? I want Chicago because they are my favorite Western Conf. team and they don't have Jonathon Quick in net. Both teams can score and have good D (if D. Keith doesn't get suspended again).

Re: NHL 2011-12
I'll take Chicago solely so there are no west coast games, but the Pens are winning in 6 just like I predicted so it's a moot point
A 2OT game in LA would have ended at 1:30am.

Good one! What's their refund policy!?
Penguins gave it their all and still came up short in game 3. They are going to be deflated and might as well already be on the golf course!
How sweep it is.

Hello Mr. LaGrassa, I'd like to inform you that your room is eligible for an upgrade since all Pittsburgh fans thought they had a chance. Unfortunately you're not eligible for a refund since you doubted the all mighty Bruins!
Was a pleasure stomping you!
Sincerely,
Todd

Congrats to the Bruins and their fans, that was truly a defensive performance for the ages.

Hoping for a full 7 games plus some OT so I will go Bruins in 7. This is the best two weeks in sports. Stanley Cup finals baby!

Re: NHL 2011-12
I'm not ready to go down that route.
Chicago > Pittsburgh
Offense that can be just as potent, but their defenders and goaltending is significantly better.
Shaping up to be one of the best SCF in recent memory.

Rangers in 6.

They've won some close games but still think this team has serious issues if/when they move on, that they won't be able to get away with against teams like Pittsburgh or Chicago.

Re: NHL 2011-12
I stand by everything I've said about this team.
I stand by the fact that they played bad hockey for a good chunk of the season - people can't deny that.
I stand by the fact that this team was playing like crap heading into the playoffs and I didn't have high hopes for them at all.
I stand by the fact that regardless of all the "negativity", I've always wanted them to win - constantly saying I hope they prove me wrong.
No doubt something clicked with them when they were down 4-1 with 10:43 remaining in Game 7 vs Toronto, and they have been an absolute force since then. Sorry, but if anyone says they saw that (and everything that's happened since) coming - they are full of it, and I stand by that as well.
