Re: Suggestions for 2010-11
I don't think we should bog this down with requirements. Its a fun league to pass the winter and keep in touch with each other.

Re: Suggestions for 2010-11
I wouldn't change the minimum. Maybe, just maybe increase to 8. But, I know of a couple instances this year where teams only had 8. I really don't care that teams rolled with full teams and people had to sit. It's too bad, get better amongst your teammates and guess what, you'll PLAY every round.
I was just thinking that if you capped it at 16 and still had a minimum number of challenges (3) to compete in finals, this would be the easiest way to increase the number of people at challenges.
Just MANDATING a minimum number of 10-12 is silly. I bet that rule would be broken a number of times. Keep it at 6, or increase to 8. Increase OVERALL roster size and that way, if the "top 14" aren't available, then you have 2 more slots to pick from, thus increasing the numbers at challenges.
Lastly, "inclusion" is one thing. After all, this league is still a mostly "OPEN" players league. Sure, we have various skill levels, but in the end we are filling 14-16 OPEN spots. I'm gettin kinda sick of this "blue ribbon" crap, which is what this argument is. Burgess rolls with a full roster 99.9% of the time. Players on my roster realize their role on the team, players know where they stand and don't get upset if they don't get to play, to Burgess, everyone wants to "win" more than anything else, (I know, this isn't the sentiment of all the teams in the league), but it's ours. Like Stroika said, players know their roles and should assume their position on a bag or preparing lunch if not playing, that's what ours do. They still have a great time...
Heck, you could have a 18 person cap, sure it'd be hard to get EVERYONE (3) challenges to qualify for finals, but you'd likely have challenges of 12-14 EVERY month. FINALS will still require a cap, that should be known, but during the regular season, use players to "spot-start" essentially, using a baseball term..
Just needs to be looked at.

Attention Captains: Please see my post in the new "Team Captains Only" section. It is basically a proposal on how we can begin moving forward with the 2010/2011 season and all the decisions that need to be made. There have been alot of good suggestions, but we need to establish a process that allows decisions to be made.
If you are not a captain, please help out by making sure your captain logs his vote. I created a poll that closes in 14 days.
Thanks.

At least one spot going to a Female on each team should be MANDATORY. Show up without a Female and take a loss on that match.

Except if you're woman has a legitimate reason to be unable to attend I hope?

I could live with that.
Matt you are free to disagree as is anybody else.
I only posted it again to bring awareness to the need to include women this year as something serious. Not as just some after thought where teams sorta think about it and then maybe do it if they happen to have some boyfriend or husband on the team.
They should be included,..playing each other and be mandatory,..IMHO
15 or 16 spot rosters and you say you can't find a female,....ya riiiiiiight!
This is team challenge people,..not the World Series Super Bowl Stanley Cup Championship of Discgolf!
Include the women and be serious about it this year.

So, if Solbama is too busy to run NEFA this year then he's too busy to run Team Challenge, right?
Great, thought so.
How should we go about pick a new Commish? Vote? Captain appointed? Free for all?
