RIT. I got mine at Rite Aid. Blick Art has a few different other brands.

It's called Rit, you can get it at Wal-Mart, some Targets and all Michaels Craft stores. It's cheapest at Wal-Mart and is usually with the laundry stuff.

I get the powder stuff, once you mix it you can re-use it. I store it in a couple rubbermaid containers. I know some people use cool whip containers, glass jars, whatever.

ya i have done some discs with RIT but it just doesnt get dark enough. I have been experimenting with alot of different dye's and methods. I have tryed boiling it and also using it with alcohol or acetone. heat is definatley the trick. The thing about RIT is that it is only like 10% DYE and the rest are fillers. i have experimented with other brands and have gotten some real dark blacks. but im still trying to find the best recipe.

I have had no problem with getting a real dark black from RIT, I mix a full package of the powder with about 3-4 cups of water, make it about 125 degrees, where I can still touch the sides of the pan, keep it in the dip for about 10 mins and it's super dark.

All depends on the plastic you dye, Champ & Star have worked the best, I also did Elite Z and Cryztal and those came out super dark too. Gonna try Pro this weekend and see how it does.

Make me an offer I can't refuse.
Everything is for sale.
The T-bird is a 170, no ink, and has yet to be thrown.
And, thanks by the way.
I was pretty happy with this last batch.

Gabe do you still have the image that you used to make your dye? I'd love to dye my new Teebird with that design. Thanks, Tim
