I just learned from the Ranger that the parking fee at BSP is now $5 (was $2) effectively since January 23rd.

Annual season pass will be $60 (was $35) effectively February 1st.

For real? I guess the government needs to waste some more money!

I believe Wickham in ct. is the same

I may be wrong but, the "season pass" at Wickham used to be blank $'s and didn't include weekends or holidays......
I think it is now $100.00 and is good for everyday they are open.
If you plan on going to one of the three leagues they have there every week then it makes sense. If you are on team Wick or a "local" who plays a couple of times a week then it is a good deal. I play Wick just about enough for it to be worth it.
If I lived within 50 miles of Borderland I would pay the $60.00.......
It's a sweet course and worth the $, especially coming in at $40.00 cheaper than Wicks equivalent.

My $.02

Agree, it was a good move by the state. Plus it isn't just for Borderland, that pass gets you into every DCR state property, including beaches. Well worth the money.

Saturday morning, crews are going out to prep the course for the MM.

One crew is going out at 8, the other at 10. If you can make it, please bring snow shoes and and a snow shovel. Focus will be on pads and getting walking paths tamped down.

Anything other than white-white is not a good idea imo.

Course Quality Update:
Snow/ice cover on the course is almost completely gone, with only a few patches. Tees therefore are clear for both White and Blue. Lowland areas of the course are still muddy with meltwater, and boots are highly recommended.

Borderland Work Day = May 30 8:30am at Practice Basket

WORK DAY May 30!

Hi Everyone - we are holding a work day on Saturday, May 30 at Borderland; meet at the practice basket at 8:30am. If you cannot make it at that time, that is fine, but please let me know below. I estimate there is roughly 30 hours of tasks to be performed, and the more that show, the easier it will be to work our way through it.

A prioritized list of tasks to be accomplished are listed below. If you are inclined to help out, it would be ideal to have people assign themselves some tasks. Certainly, more than one person can help with each task, if we get enough help.

>>Walk holes 1, 2, 3, 4 (all layouts) and pick up downed branches and limbs and move them to the sides of the fairway, picking up trash as you go = task 1

>>Walk holes 5,6,7 (all layouts) and pick up downed limbs, including those that are right off the fairway, and moving them further off the fairway. Restring OB rope around 6 blue basket, and check OB rope along hole 7 rock wall and garage. Pick up trash along the way = task 2
>>Walk holes 8,9 (all layouts), including helping clean up brush within the putting circle on hole 8 white basket. Restring OB along wall and especially near hole 8 blue basket = task 3

>>Walk hole 10, 11 (all layouts), picking up branches and limbs & trash. Remove brush pile in rock wall between hole 10 white basket and blue basket. Checking OB rope along right side of hole 10, and behind hole 10 white basket. = task 4

>>Walk and pick up downed branches, limbs and trash on hole 12, 13, 14 (all layouts). Pick up broken bridges on hole 13. Check OB rope behind hole 12 baskets, along right side and behind 13 baskets, and hole 14 walls = task 5

>>Walk and pick up branches, limbs & trash on holes 15-18. Check OB rope along left side of 15, right side of 16, and corner of 17 = task 6

Special projects in order of priority, if enough people are available:
>>Assist in clearing out bushes along right side of hole 13 near stone wall. Too much time spent looking for items in there, and it slows down play = task 7

>>Clear out brush near walls behind hole 11 white tee. It is very awkward to stand there with a foursome, and really ought to be cleaned up. Task 8

>>Clear some more of the vegetation to the right of hole 17's white basket on the way around the corner, to bring the OB more into play. Help move the brush pile there to an alternate location. Task 9

>>Help clear some of the brush and undergrowth in the gully below the white 3 tee. Often, players are searching for discs in that area, holding up play. Task 10

Hey Ira,

I'll be there in the morning. Any tools I can bring? Lopping shears, buck saw, sharks with frikkin lasers... Not sure what the park allows.

I would dress appropriately, and if you have a pick axe, that helps with some of the bushes. If not, no worries, the club has enough tools to make it a productive day...

So I was there Friday night and the white basket on nine looks like it got partially crushed by a tree. There is also some clearing going on back beyond where that basket is located. Will that be a new pin location with a new basket perhaps?

Big tree fell in 9 white last week. Park cleared it pretty quickly and we will get a replacement pin it fix the old one asap.

Anyone know when the gates are closed now? Planning a round of whites for next week after work.
