Thank you so very much Chris Gags
We rocked some of the to do list this morning.
We got the crap raked off the hill of the 18 approach.
12 received a Silky tuning along with a thorough pickup.
17 had her ankle biters removed along with the approach thinned out.
Leveled and weighed down baskets on 4, 12 and 17.
Pretty productive

Don't forget Dubz league starts at 4:45 pm Friday(August 1st)

Guy awesome news,
Glad I stayed late ran into Bob from RFG
we finally got to speak face to face
I showed him the pictures Ken G sent me of the platforms and non platforms
I need to get price of flypad material for 18 holes
He is getting price of lumber 4x8,plywood
He also is getting prices from his shop, or see if they will donate fill, stonedust
He is kinda really attached to the idea of pavers, so I told him to price em out...and if they decide they want pavers then where we can put them terrain wise then it is an option, but advised against and also stated we need in some spots no matter what the platform style as the terrain won't allow material underneath will erode out
he is gonna figure out what is his best option to get material staged next to hole 14's tee so we can shift materials around from there with quad, he doesnt wanna pop a tire in the quad cuz it is expensive he said so worst case if we can't get to tee area all the way we wheelbarrow/bucket from as close as he can get..although I only see that in a few spots
Then he/me is gonna gfet Jerm to set a club work day and we can recruit DG'ers and bang this out over late summer/fall to be prepared for "grand" opening next summer
he said the club has been all hands and few of them inside doing renovations when they can and it has gotten expensive as they ran into continued issues can of worms type stuff
I will call Jerm to confirm a timeline this weekend and prob exchange with Bob again material cost next weekend...
I told him we are at the point tees are holding the progression of the course back and it is a must we get these in if they wanna achieve their end goal as well for the course
So awesome news..slowly but surely we will get the tees in
What I would suggest is we take are next actions to getting tees prepped, we need to go measure out 5x10(I told him is desired, maybe 5x8 on ashorter holes if that is best) and mark them with survey flags in the spots we want them
regardless of if platformed or not we need to dig out sediment cuz I want them even sitting on some base compact material to avoid things like rot, unstability, bounce affect
So final tee locations need to be determined and cleaned/prepped
I have some ideas to help with the uphillness and I also have some suggestions on alt pin/trail spots for fall/time and winter/snow/time on a few holes
We also need to put more arrows up and I gotta get gunclub shooting range signs up on 18..duke was close to getting down into the danger area can't believe it but he did watched it as I was spotting
shooting signs for ones fairway as well...
I will ask about kiosk progress as well..as that will help sooooooo much
I have an issue with holes 6,7,9,10,11,15..I will leave 18 out as I know we have way more cuts to get done and am starting to feel parets of the hole are there it is just connecting them a tad more pure..the shot from the hill looks super fun watched 2 near field aces from up there metal then followed by chains..wowzer
I think they can be way better then how they are currently playing, help with the hillyness and maybe even out the RHBH feel..I would like for us to think tank a lil on those holes and any holes you may have any issues with before tees are put in..before tees I always get this crazy werd feeling of "is this really what we want"
I just know we can do even better on those holes now that the dust has cleared and actually have seen them from the drawing board to reality
I don't see this as a negative but a positive that holy F this project has come from a thought to a playable product the road has been interesting and hardwork filled with fun times as well
I can honestly say I like 12 holes out there and super enjoy them...and the other 6 are close to being in that group as well
We will keep with it and use all this new perspective from the players to achive an awesome DG adventure where people will enjoy the entire course heck every throw..well except missed putts we can't help that lol
regardless it is nice to finally see the light towards the end of the tunnel and be able to get an awesome feel for the land at this point.
I hope others who view this see people dedicated to making the players happy and continued progress..discussion is awesome and will only help this place really evolve
I am so happy on how far things have come and this could have never happened without Mr Lyman serious he is just a nutcase animal from another planet...
That hill on 18 looks great!!!
Do you have flags/tape still Guy?
If we are working Wedz..and you want a break from 18 I suggest we do a complete walk through to measure/determine tees and exchange ideas

Guy talked to Jerm
Gave him the "must have" list
Gun signs (well get to me soon to see if sully can laminate)
Kiosk (soon as interior is finished)
Tees (Bob)
Firewood(he went to get some..got some in the rain and then blew a bvrake line on his friends truck) after that happened it got sunny go figures tis the rule of life
He is on it and Bob is moving forward with the tees..so good shape there
The club loves the progress and peeps have noticed the work
I see the light for 10 now..just moving that tee up solved my issue in a sense and I realize the other plan moots too much work and really doesnt gain that much
We are in make the course MORE FUN mode now..not that it isnt already but we wanna keep peeps coming back..a more uphill feel will always be just the way it is..heck we are dam near on a mountain
My new issue is making 15 the hole it should be...we are gonna pure up that gap and make it nice and sexy..
A continued battle with hole 18 to get it where we can both agree OK it is where it needs to be...a rather tough labor intensive hole that sucker has been hard work and we were way out in not reality land for awhile..but hey we know every inch of that hillside now lol
Tees Tees Tees and more Tees with awesome lil sit down and take a chill seats to look around and appreciate the crisp land you traverse is on the front burner as well
We have taken a prehistoric forest and turned it into a rather challenging DG course
I can't wait till that cherry on top comes in the form of sitting on that skeet chair and opening up a mega event with a disc getting shot down from the sky...it will be a DX wraith I have a serious issue with!!!!

Yup, it's a woods course, but the fairways are pretty wide on most holes which is nice! Sean Echlin, Pete Stone and I played the course yesterday afternoon and had a blast! It is very obvious the sheer amount of trail blazing that you guys have done so far to carve this course out of the woods. Thanks for the next tee arrows and path markers. Great variety of hole types, and it was very pretty as well. At least 5 holes I would call "signature," while most courses may have 1 or 2. Certainly a challenging course and a decent hike too. Sean took it with a 63 (course record? lol). I grabbed shot of the day on hole 6 (I think). Hit first available tree off the tee and bounced hard right. Then tossed in a standstill roadrunner shot from over 300' out! I recommend playing this course if you like The General, Dacey, Conway, etc. If you're already near Flat Rock or Tully, it's a no-brainer.

on current layout i do believe 63 is course record..as we had changes and that was prob first official singles round since
old record was 59 but 15&18 changed about 300ft added
although 18 and a few other spots were tougher
dubz i belive 58
once tees i suspect averages drop instantly
i suspect a sub 50 will be a quest for some time out there..unless some 1020's happen to roll through lol

I got a round in at RFG last Saturday.
I was extremely impressed with how polished this course is considering how young it is. Navigating was a cinch with great arrow indicators and log-lined paths. The layout looks to be well thought out and jam ups should be minimal. With the installation of finished tees this will be a tournament-quality course in record time.
It is heavily wooded but fairways are available on every hole. It was surprising that many holes had considerable length in such a dense area. The hard work is evident. A lot of elevation changes make for a good workout!
Looking forward to many more rounds here. Kudos to all the hard workers!

wow nice to read people are playing the course
glad you enjoyed the round mike and thanks for the positive review...it pumps us up to keep up the hardwork
we will keep at it till this place is a gem
guy and i spent 4 soggy hours out there today
polished up 15
pole sawing on 12
we finally got back out to hole 11..opened up the route to green as it was a lil jailish around green..guy dropped a few big boys and we cleaned and weedwhacked the fairway
next up
hole 7 polesaw late approach and early green
hole 8 cut tee area off from powerline back about 25ft so tee has a perma home
hole 18 continued work
new trail from 9~10
after that we will be focusing almost soley on prepping tee areas for upcoming perma tee construction
again thanks all who have. made the trip out...others feel free to make the adventure
as stated by others the course is set on a mountain of sorts so be prepared for a lil workout bring water
