I finally managed to get down to Sturbridge for a round at Hyland yesterday. I read the thread before I went down to make sure I understood the beer rules. Unfortunately, it didn't help much, since starting yesterday the brewery is closed on Mondays.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

Why would someone steal a matt from the course? It's not even a flypad or rubber. It's an entrance matt like you would see in a hotel. It was a temp T box but worked well. I have a feeling someone has a little course in their yard and decided it work for them. The matt was black 9' long by 4' wide. It was on 17 the old hole 9.
If you don't pay or play how can improvements be made.

Are you kidding me!? I just don't see how someone could be disc golfing and be like "hey I like this mat and want it." and then just roll it up and walk off with it. Or even worse, finish the round and come back later...If you ever have a "fundraiser" tournament/event I would love to participate to help get all teepads permanent. Or, if memberships are continued I would definitly buy another season membership.
Wish I was playing disc golf instead of posting here...

A few of us will be doing some burning on hole 3 Friday. This hole needs the most work. Fire is the best, quickest and most fun way to make it look and play good. If anyone would like to help just show up Friday morning anytime after 8am.

Has anyone brought up a Hylands Bag Tag League? We may be the only course in Mass without one. Just sayin'...

Really enjoyed the round here last week, course is in great shape. The new hole (4 and 5 together) is probably the best on the course now. Great job.

On the new hole 10 (old 1), is it a re-tee if you don't clear ob?

I believe the question was specific to having not cleared the OB and thus having never been in-bounds. This would be a mando re-tee.

To answer your question though, Steve... If the disc does cross the OB line on hole 10 and into play, then back out again by hitting a tree and bouncing out or fading out of bounds hard left, then the disc can be played from where it went out/last in.

When I was there last, payment was in the same place (the wooden shed up the stone steps). The new first hole is the one right past the outside drinking pavilion.

Is the brewery open Monday 12/26? Looking to show the place to the man who introduced me to the sport, who's in town for the holidays...

Just talked to Rasta Marc...

Officially the brewery is closed on Mondays but apparently there is a lot of interest in golf tomorrow at Hylands because of the holidays. Soooo... Maybe. Officially maybe.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but most of the people who could possitively say one way or the other aren't on NEFA.

Enjoy the course, Kevin!

With 2012 upon us, 2011 memberships are just about done. It will be up to owners if there will be 2012 memberships or not and how much they will be. I will start working on this issue.

I'm assuming this doesn't include the initial basket sponsor memberships, right?
