should be interesting....players should be conceding more when the hole goes south...IMO...taking your putt should then fall under speed of play violation

any side action on time of finish..? or over/under on lost disc...?

Supposed to be 40 degrees on tuesday... Might help a little, at least get rid of the powder so discs will stick out better.

Jenkins, Persson, Hickson, Rowden and Myself played Hylands Tourney this past Saturday, it was alot of fun. Al R. and partner took down First Place, Dave H. and Billy took second place and Dave J. and I placed third. Team Buff took it down. Can't wait for this challenge!

Ditterman, we've been working with 8:30am for some time now. I sent Matt D. an email when he asked back on page 7 but got no reply so I assume everything so far is a go. Even if the A-pool match isn't ready til 9am or whenever, we will probably trickle off hole 1 and won't fill the front 9 with all our matches so if A-pool trickles off hole 11 (which makes the most sense) then we will probably still have a multi-hole gap between us. Wow, those last few words sound terrible together...

Yeah, this blizzard was no help to our speed of play at all. With the snow, we all have probably lost D off our drives (unless you're one of those minimal run-up overhanders like Duke's Nukes) so there's a chance all our scores all just went up a few strokes. Lost discs IMO need to be enforced the second it's realized as lost. If you've found your disc, leave your bag at it and run over to the other player's area, keep your eyes peeled and start the 3-minute clock.

Also should we get a final list going of the potluck lunch so others know what/not to bring? I'll be doing the Sully From Tully Buffalo Chicken Dip and bring a boat load of chips.

And this ain't gonna help the cause out........

Tuesday: Snow before 2pm, then snow and sleet between 2pm and 4pm, then freezing rain and sleet after 4pm. High near 33. East wind between 5 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

I'll have a spool of ribbon and tape available.

Jeff that should actually HELP our cause

Some snow...yes, but the rain/freezing rain will compact the fluffy stuff that's already on the ground. The rain/freezing rain along with the freezing temps over the next week should make the snow hard and crunchy...thus much more likely to NOT lose any discs! :thumleft:

Why trickle start? Doesn't that take a lot longer? Is it actually faster?

Are we still thinking of doing potluck lunch? I don't mind making a crockpot of chili and bringing it, so long as there's a place to plug it in. But I'm thinking we might be better served with a BYO lunch to save time...it looks like that's what the A-poolers have decided. Then we can quickly eat and get on to the second round.

Wow.
It's bad outside.
Hopefully SOME of this stuff melts away, or there's gonna be alot of spike hyzers, just so your disc doesn't slide 80 ft past the basket...

Yes the snow is going to make this interesting. I walked around a little out there after the rain. Crunchy on top but not enough to stop discs from penetrating. I think it only made the walking tougher. I will not be able to use the backpack leaf blower I normally use to clear the boxes. I will help to get them ready, but I will not have the time to be out there and make sure they are all cleared. If your teams want to make sure you have good boxes, then some of the local guys should start working on them. I will pick up some ice melt with course funds. I can spread some out on Friday. You never know how much snow will come on Friday.
If you don't pay or play how can improvements be made.

I can't wait! This IS what winter golf is all about. Looking forward to seeing the stunned sad faces of team Buff at the end of the day.
