Sup Laner and Page crew.. can I suggest a pick up glass round? Bring a five gallon bucket or something like that.. I know Paul brings his dog there and see other dogs frequent the course and can imagine a paw getting sliced open big time.

Just an idea.

I think getting the glass up is more important that picking up harmless trash.

Pat I love the idea. So much in fact, there have already been several 5-gallon buckets filled with glass and removed from 18 (you are talking mostly about 18 right?). however every rain storm then unearths new glass (people have been partying there since the 70s), and I personally deemed it unfeasible to get all the glass out of there. the new plan is to get the town to drop fill material in there and just cover the whole second half of hole 18. we can use anything natural for fill, dirt, stone, mulch etc.

so if anyone can get their hand on truckloads of fill material, feel free to donate to page park! or we can shawshank it and put rocks in our pockets and throw a handful down every round and finish by 2036.

I think I am going to make a shirt that simply says "Shawshank It" and where it every time I play page.... However I just thought you could probly get that confused with my golf game.... "Shawshank It" ugh... :cyclopsani:

Work for this year has started... new signs have replaced the weathered ones, tees are being leveled and prepped for real pads, the kiosk is much better, bridges have started to go in, overall its gonna be a big year for Page.

In lieu of league on April 30,

Workday Saturday, 4/30 @ 9 A.M. until finished casual round afterwards, to clean up winter limb/stick damage, do a couple small projects, generally spruce the place up.

Workday - Sunday - 6/12 @ Page Park. 10am.

Post by James Lane »

The basket survived, we will bring it to a shop at some point to fix some welds or whatever it needs.

We are going to try a workday (again) for Sunday June 12, 10am at hole 1.

Some tasks are:
a small crew walk hole by hole and clean debris/sticks -
a couple people to work on walking paths, especially 11->12->13 -
install a few proper tee posts w/ signs -
frame out up to 4 tee areas with wood/gravel. -
defining fairways a little better, minor cutting -
backfill hole 1 tee -

We need all the help we can get, if you can make it, great!

most of the work was on getting wood/blocks/sand/gravel out to the tee areas of 18/15/7/3. These tees will be complete in the upcoming days.
Lyons went to work on 2/3/4/11/12/13 improving flight paths, visuals, and broken/dangerous trees and limbs.
Some new walking paths were made
things are looking good.
small tasks that will be done asap:
PI spraying, 18 T, 7 T, sticks and debris from fairways

Thanks again everyone!

Finally played Page today. Really impressed! What a beautiful course. The upkeep seems to be really exceptional. And as a first-timer - the trail markers are incredibly helpful, I didn't miss a single hole. Except 13... Someone was having a party on the green.. Tied their dog and balloons to the pin X!

looking forward to next time. Thanks for the hard work!

Yep, it's true. Stupid $#%*ing local kids. #@$%, when I was a local kid in Bristol I never did that %@#&! :x

Hey Laner, I know we were planning on using my Sat. league course fund for tee pads, but this seems to be more immediately important. Drop me a line if you would like to meet up.

I'm thinking that maybe - just maybe - that the bolt threads maybe were not compressed with a sledge after assembly?

If this is possibly true - a thorough check of all remaining elements (3 per basket) should be completed. If the locking collar bolt threads were not compressed, the whole basket could be removed............................

Good point Joe, and yes I'd vote for "publically mentioning" this plight. The "masses" have more eyes than a handful of dg'ers (they may find the 'missing tops') and even though this might not be the type of press we hope for (to grow the sport), it IS press and in grabbing a little sympathy press we also may teach the unknowing about the sport's existence.

John Nolan and I are working on fixing our problem. He has already contacted Innova, and we have most if not all of the $ needed to buy the parts. So have no fear, Page will be back to a fully-functioning beautiful 18 soon enough.

Has anyone checked deep in the woods or the edge of the pond...if it was hooligans, chances are the tops didn't stray too far
