Very cool!! I just saw this this morning otherwise would have acknowledged yesterday. I have given Jason my deposit on this basket and have the cash from Kevin and Jenks. Hand over the cash and make sure Jason doesn't buy beer with it.

DO they have a box to pay to play the course yet?

Yup.
Put your money in the slot then sign the sign in sheet with the time you arrive. Also they have scorecards in another box.
Big sign there that says "No Dogs Allowed" which was a bummer for me since I drove down to play and had my dog with me. Had to go elsewhere.
So heads up to anyone else who brings their dog golfing with them.

Is it just me or did the score cards the Web Fish n Game supplies have incorrect par totals for the course?

Yes Anthony, the par is incorrectly added up on the scorecard.

Great news. Just talked to Tim Cullinen from the Webster Fish & Game. We ironed out the miscommunication of the five-year memberships for five guys sponsoring a tee sign. When five guys sponsor a tee sign, they each get a five-year membership.

Whew, and yay. I directly contacted a couple people on the Board and said please please please I too cannot for sure remember that we said five years for five people but I told a bunch of people who forked over 100 smackers to support the cause and get a five year membership.

They said yes no problem It's been nothing but positive experiences and good income from the course, and disc golfers are really friendly.

I sense some eyes widening with the realization that a disc golf course, especially if you have a bar already, is a good thing indeed.

The best part is that Tim & Roger and Dave, all Fish & Game members for many years, played. Roger and Tim tied with a 76, and Dave got a 79. Tim said they've been out for a few holes with other members four or five times since. He said, "It's a blast."

They love it. They love having a disc golf course. They like the people who come and play. The money earned from the course will allow them to maintain it, and to upgrade the entire facility.

Don't you love it when everyone's a winner?

Dennis Parslow thank you for your wonderful post. It tastes like rocket fuel (mixed 50/50 with a frosty Pabst).

We'd all like to change the world, improve the world. Well, that's hard. But we can imagine we're changing the whole world by changing little tiny corners of it. Think about the people who run and patronize the Webster Fish & Game.

We changed their world big time.

Plus, the ten guys led by Justin White who want to get 500 smackers together for a tee sign will each get a one-year membership from the date the check (mixed in with random ones, fives, quarters and two-dollar-winning scratch tickets) arrives.

Questions? Comments? Bids, banter, boldness?

Still room for the NEFA President and VP to follow through with their earlier offer to sponsor a tee sign. But not if it's just because you realized you're dorks for giving the big grant to a course for baskets even though that course already has baskets, and not even a small grant to a course that really needed cash to emerge (and most of the cash came in the form of donations from New England players, thank you), and that you are big goofball poopy pants.

How much money does NEFA have? It's like whispering into a well.

I took out the poopy part.

This and other posts are all great news.

Questions:
Can we get a list of holes sponsored?
And by Whom, who is in?
Can the hole sponsororors provide signage input/ideas?
What are those guidelines?
When will signage be Put up?
For sign posts, will they all block releases, or just lefty releases??
What are course hours?
Does the dumpster still stink?
And you think you're done here?

Comments:
If guys come looking for money, the password is "Marmalade" to get them to not break anything and leave you alone.
You're awesome, but you are no Jerel Davis.
I appreciate what you have done for us.

Bids, Banter, Boldness:
I will never open the bidding. See above. Passive agressive, so ....

That's a lot of questions, Rick.
I know the answer to one. The sign has course hours posted as 8 AM to Dusk.

I'd also like to see a list of sponsored holes and by whom.
The Team Newton sponsorship will be in this week.

10 courses within a 30 min drive from my house. I can get used to this.

Rick....... If you don't have enough class to be sayin "Marmalade", is it okay to say " Grape Jelly" and who has the list of Basket Sponsors at the club if you want to find out if you're on it.

Ray, Tim Cullinen is the fish and gamer who has been interfacing w the discers. Nice guy. They are making up membership cards and Tim also mentioned that there will be a list posted at the bar.

This course is great. Thanks to Jason and all the volunteers.

What's the course record? I heard an unverified report of a 44, so I've been spreading that rumor...

If you are looking for unverified reports, I heard Jerel Davis got a 17. He smashed chains so hard on #6, the disc sheared in half, half dropping in that basket and the second half flew down and smashed the chains on 7. And of course, he aced all the others.

Sorry, wrong thread.

Ray, I like Marmalade and please don't call it jelly.

Sing it wit me now: "Rick don't use butter, he dont use cheese, HE DON'T USE JELLY, or any of these..."

Let it be known, I am sponsoring hole 6. Called it. The first obvious  spot. Now if only I could find some dancing hippies to hang out near the basket.

Rick................ I was not implying that you're not classy enough to go with the "Marmalade", I was implying that Tim Carter aint classy enough. Maybe it's me who aint classy enough, but it never hurts to throw Tim Carter's name into the mix. Oh yeah Tim, thanks for the info. I think I met that guy at the Ball.

Let's just not pretend about who is classy and who is not. Something about a pot and a kettle calling each other names?

I yam what I yam. You ah who you ah. Tim happens to be the guy who finished last on Saturday. I eat marmalade and nutella. There, I said it.
