Holy crap!!!
that is one impressive MPO field. Makes me want to drive up at 5am saturday to watch the cannons for a day flinging frisbees in the coolest spot in VT.
One very cool thing to remind out of towners is to utilize the badazz swimming holes in the area. They are epic and people traveling around the country would appreciate that little hidden secret of VT. Skiing and swimming are my two favorite things to do in VT
Hopefully some of them hit Nectar's for some late nite fries
It took the major tournament msdgc a few years to get as many of the top ten who are attending this event, to attend our event.
Have a blast y'all and watch closely how the pro's throw the course. If you see how they dismantle your course whilst playing their tournament round, you'll learn a lot about the evolution of your courses future design...
at least that is how it's been happening for me at Maple Hill
BooM!!!

Putting a pro on an am2 card throwing blues while pros are throwing golds to start the weekend? Odd move.

Odd numbers can be better dealt with than throwing a pro (who paid $75 to enter and murdered the majority at the VO) on an AMdeuce card that isn't even playing the same layout.
There's no argument to the contrary. I've run, co-TD'd or helped with cards for a ton of events and never once has something this lousy even come close to happening.
Whatever.
Event looks like a great gig, tho. Lots going on from beer to music and accommodations. I'll be putting this on my calendar for 2014!

I heard a pro with a very recognizable name, say to a pro with a much higher rating, "I hate these mixed cards" to which he replied, "I play with you guys every weekend, it's nice to play with locals who know the course" I guess it depends on the player. Cards only had pros with am1 so there were no mixed tees

It was tough uphill battle for me to win the AM1 division at age 39 against most AM1 players under age 35. I really enjoy playing in this division.
First round, I screwed up bit too much. Paul (2nd place winner, only 23 years old) was in lead. Man, I was so disappointed with myself. After lunch break. I got a hot round and pull down -1 under par 60. Paul got even Par.
I'm 5 strokes behind him after two rounds.
Next day, Sunday, all ready for final 27 holes round. I didn't do well in the original 18 holes but Paul must have got off the wrong foot with bad drives and putting and got too many OBs on the new temp 9-holes (scary holes but me likey!!) that allowed me to catch up with him with a very clean controlled OB-free round and beat him by one stroke!
But when the scorecard were signed and turned in. He added his score wrong and got additional strokes for it. Ouch!
NEW TEMP 9 HOLES
Original 18 holes
Temp 9 Holes - Patrick was OB-free on all holes while everyone else gets more than two OBs.

I know of the situation as I played both rounds with the player that played the first round with 2 am2 players.
Mistakes get made and life goes on. I am sure you are not perfect either Jim, so let's let it go and move on. The player seemed to have a great exerience other then that and I know I enjoyed watching him make huge putts and big drives. We received some great feedback on how to imrove the tournament next year and we can't wait to make this event bigger and better each and every year.
I had one of the best weekends in my 12 years of playing. I am well over 200 events played and I can't thank Jeff Spring and the Brewster Ridge crew enough! I had a LOT of fun with everyone and can't wait to see the Green Mtn Championships grow and evolve.

Of course I'm not. However, I'd expect stuff like this to be brought up for anything I've run. It's perfectly OK to make an issue known. This is how issues don't arise in the future.
For the sake of moving on, please re-read my post most of the way up this page. Particularly the last sentence
I was content with leaving things as-is, but I had just been told by another forum member that this situation was not as I had told, to which I simply corroborated my claims with a 3rd party piece of evidence.
Again...

Wow, this really was an awesome tournament… the course was amazing! Many thanks to Jeff and the entire staff for putting in all the work hosting us, and all the folks up there that created and maintain this beauty. Big big thanks and love to all the great friends and family that make this type of special experience possible. My children are just the best.
And many thanks again to the Pure Flight boys, not only for the gear, but mainly for the great spirit you exude. You guys are the stuff.
Thank you, thank you, thank you...

I'm with ya Jim, leave the mixing for weeklies/fun events, when $ is on the line, keep divisions together. Move up if you want to play with the big boys. Warning though, mimicking the words of Heisenberg, "I suggest you tread lightly" as vermonters don't take kindly to constructive criticism...

sounds like a good time at smuggs, Fiddlehead rocks !
would've loved to see ricky park that 500+ hole ... day-um !!

No other way to say it; An
AMAZING Tournament & Weekend. Huge Thanks to Jeff, Jon, Elizabeth, Patrick, Ian, Justin, Emmit's Mom, Smuggs, Fiddlehead Brewery, Bachnein, Wyndham, Numerous Volunteers, Condos, "Second Fiddle," Golf Carts, Shuttles, Water Slides, Hodad (aka 'Pure Beer Candy'), Wood Chips, Tall Grass Get Down, Conscious Roots, and all who traveled from afar....Well Done!
If you couldn't make it this year, mark your calendars when the event returns in 2014....This is a weekend not to be missed!!

For the record, Vermonters are fine with constructive feedback, but repeated complaining is lame in every state. Just saying.

Constructive criticism would be getting in touch with the TD yourself and letting them know how things could improve. Not having someone else from your state get on the forum and start complaining how they think the event they were not at should be run and how this is the worst thing they have ever seen and how because this player played well at the Vibram they deserve more.
Another big thanks to everyone that came out. It was an amazing group of golfers out there all weekend! See ya'll soon.

Nobody had me do a thing. It's not the worst thing I've ever seen. Sorry if I've offended. It was just a real head-scratcher.
Relax.
I even complemented the tourney and said I'd go next year. Looks like a killer weekend, indeed.

I couldn't in good conscience let this kind of childish hyperbole go unrequoted.
