I understand that. Did that happen this year? NEFA was talking about ramifications for TD's for not reporting on time. Did anything ever come of that? They talked for three years about that and never came up with anything so I doubt that has changed.

The final report needed didn't come in to us until Friday morning. Invites were posted 24 hours later. This is the second year that we have had a regional finals/invite process, so it is a little different from the past decade. We discussed the suggestion members had regarding penalizing TD's, however, I don't have the exact minutes from that discussion. It should be posted in one of the meeting minutes/recording posts.

From my perspective, it doesn't make sense to penalize the players by removing a tournament/TD from the next year because a single TD doesn't come up with payment/results in a timely manner. Let's say that happened with a guy like Gary Cyr (I know, it never would) and we removed him as a TD. Now NEFA and the players lose out on a boat load of events that otherwise, have great value and attraction to players and our organization. It's not as cut and dry as people make it out to be.

Rather than attempting to discipline TD's, why not make it beneficial to the TD to turn in the results in a timely manner? For example; results in within 48 hours get a reduced rate?

Let's say you changed the NEFA fee next year from $1.00 to $1.25 per person, but the 25 cents gets waived if the results are in in 48 hours. If they turn it in late, NEFA would pocket an extra $18.00 with a 72 player field...if it's in quick the TD get's to keep it for his troubles.

If that's not enough incentive, make it a $1.50...or even $2.00 If the TD stood to pocket $72.00 or $90.00 by getting the results in on time, NONE would be late. Might even have the added benefit of getting a few more people wanting to try and run some tournaments if they could actually make a few bucks by doing so.

The noon deadline to guarantee an AM spot has passed. All players that did not respond are eligible for the Day of Wait List on Saturday.

I have posted the newly extended invites in the second post. The master spreadsheet has also been updated, including the remaining waitlist.

If you know you will be declining your invite, please do so ASAP so people off the waitlist can get in. The same rules apply (I.E. a decline MA1, let's the next MA1 in). Any player on the waitlist is also eligible for the Day of Wait List.
