Damn I hate sticks, so many f*ng sticks, anyways 15 is really starting to shape up, I did have my camera, but these shots don't do it justice, the green is narrow but then opens up.

Here's the shot from the tee: Throw a nice midrange touch shot 250 feet and land right before the opening, to far left=jail

Image

After the amazing tee shot, it's a nice 100 foot upshot to a sloped green, (should be used to these by now at Otter Brook)

Guy and I went BEAST MODE Today. Here is what we accomplished

Path from 15 to 14 Before:

Path to 15 to 14 Midway:

Path to 15 to 14 AFTER:

SHOTS OF 13's APPROACH and GREEN:

WE made a nice Path from 13's green to 14's Tee Here's the start:

Midway:

End of Path (puts you right at 14's tee)

Speaking of 14, Here's 14 from the Tee, (she's tight)

End of 14's fairway entering Green (not cut yet, notice access path to the right which is a 15 second walk to 15's Tee PAd)

I met this critter on the way out, he told me his name was Mr. Snappy and that he was a 1000 Rated Biter, I let him be.

Hey Rob,

The pics are great...lot of work creating fairways in a forest...

Hey the Snapping Turtle is HUGE!!!!!!

Probably a female...naturalists tell me the males rarely leave the water...females are out laying eggs...Looks like the soil is all disturbed around the turtle...maybe just finished...or you may have interrupted her before she got started...

Looks like her head is the same as a man size12 work boot...not lose just a finger or two...probably the whole hand...living dinosaurs...very cool...

I want to offer up some time with the chainsaw etc... if you have something tricky ...

Cannot wait to get back up see what has been done...

Thanks,

Thanks T.M. Great to hear from you, I know you are busting your A$$ at NINi, The nice thing about the back 9 is that there is not nearly the amount of large cuts that the front 9 had. I'd love for you to come up and see the course, the biggest mistake I made on the front was not cutting flush and close to the ground, I now have several dozen stumps on the front that need to be leveled. I am not making that mistake on the back 9!
So, we could use a hand (we can always use a hand, just like you probably could) but it is not as urgent as it was when I reached out to you last time. Either way, I'd love for you to make it up some time this summer and check out what we have been up to!

Hey Rob,
I would like to suggest that if you want to "flush cut" a few dozen stumps...

You should invest in a carbide tipped chain for your chain saw...

Have not purchased one of these chains in about ten years...

If I remember right it was $125.00...but...

You could cut all of your stumps without dulling the chain past where it won't cut...

I bought a couple twenty inch chains for my Husquavarna(sp?)...

You can get them for whatever saw you are using...

Well worth the investment...

I am sure that in the internet era... easy to find a supplier...

I am looking forward to playing Otter Brook at some point this year...
Thanks,

Hey Rob,

That is sweet...

I need to learn how to do the pic to the forum thing...

much better with the chainsaw than computer...

Nice weathered bench seems like it has been there waiting for the tee to be finished...

Top notch job on the installation!!!!!!!

So how many do you have finished now???

Thanks,

That is a fine plan, will meet you at the gate @ 7:00 work until 9:15, crush league and then back to work. Would be real nice to get her all cut.

I went back out in the afternoon and hammered on 16's green area, definitely sexy, and maybe the flattest green OB has :D

Speaking of 17, I'm thinking about naming it "Hobo Alley", there are all types of whiskey jugs, pots and pans etc.. I think it was an old squatter site back in the 60's, kind of fun to sit in the woods and think about the history and the past. I'd like to think the woods are happy with the new life and energy that is being brought back, but that's just me, I spend a lot of time in my head.

yeah,

trapping beavers, drinking booze, camping on the land
you really can't beat that

those thoughts are better then until recently visions of a cult whom killed beavers and nailed their tails to trees dancing in the woods soaked with beaver blood but only when a certain moon hits the green lagoon

I have never been at OB past sunset for fear of that day being the right moon

I always thought of the front side as the light, and the back as the dark

The woods can do strange things to the mind

rob,

it might be a great idea to sooner then later
cut the exit for hole 18 and the course in general

ranger Jim agreed they would take that old culvert area and repipe and gravel it
not sure what the current rangers pov is on that but is critical to the design working

so maybe put an early bug in their ear

I know from past adventures rangers don't mind that type of thing and always put culverts

I also understand you want to go in order but it might be wise to drop down and trim a path truck/tractor wide so they can get in there to do said work while other projects are being completed

also I think it might be wise to locate the exact pin location and work backwards of sort on hole 18 from green

as we discussed prev keeping it about 40 feet from high water mark is good idea

idk just a suggestion as hole 17 is basically done as is
16 I am sure just needs some clean up

T-Bone,

Why don't you just offer him your services and then let him tell you what he is going to do next? Every time I read your posts to Rob all I get is "you should do this and you should do that".

Don't take it personal, "just sayin' "

I knew it was going to take a couple more work days, she'll be done soon, glad to hear the exit to 18 was dry, I'm not surprised though. The way the land slopes down there pulls water away from that area, if that area gets flooded we will have bigger things to worry about, end of school year work has got me putting in long hours, wish I could be out there more but will be there Sunday 7am for sure!

In case anybody reads this, Guy or myself are always at the gate at 7am Sunday morning, any additional assistance would be appreciated, come work for a few hours and then go play league and then work a bit more, that's what I do, but I;d also like to see the back 9 done and in play this summer.
