46 Players on a windy day.
Many morning-of signups were watching the radar beforehand and were rewarded with sunny skies for the 2nd round.

Thanks to Travis and Co. for a great event !!

Results are up! I am finalizing everything this evening.

I'd like to take some time to thank a lot of you for making this event happen: Jeff Wiechowski for supporting me the entire way in preparation and running the actual event. Couldn't have done it without you, man. Thanks to Kenji Cline for making sure everything was running smoothly between rounds and running the ace pot and CTP throw-off and CTB events while I was preparing the payouts. Everyone was having so much fun trying to win some Sundog Cider that I not only had time to count all the cards and finalize the scores, but I even had all of the tags ready to pass out. Thanks to Kat for getting everything with the tags set in the morning and just hanging out and keeping me calm!

I can't thank the Stonykill Crew enough. Gene for being the course foreman and having the "vision" to make Stonykill as amazing as it is, Nate for making all of the awesome new signs and GPS mapping all of the current and future holes. Zach for always being out there working... Hole 8 looks like a Zen garden and ALL of the weed-whacking was done by him. Tim and Frank for bringing out their chainsaws and leaf blowers and cleaning everything up prior to the tournament. Mel for making the BEST kiosk I've ever seen at any disc golf course and supplying the shed to keep our abundance of tools in. Thanks to all the rest of you who have come out to volunteer on work days and helped put in paver tees, move logs and sticks from the fairways and the list goes on and on.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored the event... Nate Davis with cash and tee signs, ACP Power Equipment on Route 66 for providing us with free rentals, Harry and Empire State Disc Golf for hooking it up with a CTP and cash AND bringing out his huge collection of discs to sell. Joe Jaskolka for sponsoring a hole for the Muscular Dystropy Association http://www.mda.org/. I've made a donation to them and urge the rest of you to do the same, no matter how small. Tim Golden and Craig Henninger (Check out his huge collection of Wizards, let me know if you need some and I'll point you in his direction) also sponsored the event with cash. All of the sponsorships added up to extra cash for the pros and LOTS of extra discs and prizes for everyone. Jeff was injured and donated his entry to the Grandmasters. I sat out the second round adding another $50 bucks for pros and I sponsored a hole as well. Zach hooked it up with multiple bottles of Sundog Cider for the throw-off and a sweet New York Giants pitcher and glass set... thanks Zach!

Congratulations to the winners! Jasan Lasasso gets huge props for breaking my course record with a blazing hot 50 (-7) during the second round, which was a 1000 rated round! Of course Jasan's lovely wife Jess, who won FA1 and is habitually beating more and more of the guys. Greg Kurtz looked nervous at the turn, trailing Kevin Rounds by 3 strokes, but pulled ahead to get the MPG win! Michael Thomas came out from central NY and won MA1. Ryan Kendrick squeeked out a win over Joe J by 1 stroke and took down MM1, Michael Lazzaro came up from CT and got his first career win in MA2! The big surprise was our course local, John O'Grady with a HUGE second round to come back and win MA3 from the chase card. Way to go everyone!

Thanks to all of you who made the trip out to Stonykill from all over New England and anyone else I forgot to thank... I appreciate everything that was done to make this event happen. I hope everyone enjoyed the course and the tournament as much as I did. I was a little nervous running the first PDGA tournament at SK, but it's a huge relief hearing positive feedback from so many of you. We have AT LEAST FIVE tournaments planned for 2016, 25 weeks of our summer doubles league, and many weekend leagues planned. I know the 2nd annual Stonykill Fall Classic in 2016 will be much bigger and better... hope to see you there!
