Hey Fellas,
If most people that care to participate will be at the league on Sunday at Ninigret. Ryan 'assumes that it will be easier"
I never assume anything because when you assume you make both an "ASS" out of "U" and "ME".
The point of meeting at my place instead of the course is ... That the forcast for Sundays weather is for RAIN!!!
Maybe I am missing the POINT but standing outside in the rain for "an hour or so if we stay on track" To quote Matt, will not be a condusive venue for people attending and putting in there own two cents.
I am sure that Matt and Ryan are to young to remember the SNL skit made famous by Chevy Chase and Jane Curtain called "POINT and COUNTER POINT"
Chevy would make the Counter Point to Janes Point by stating
" Jane You igorant SLUT, Just because you have never had an ORGASM does NOT mean that....
My COUNTER POINT is that my place is a better place to host a committee mtg than the outside venue of the park in the RAIN.
Maybe I am wrong in this conclusion, but, I feel that if at 1pm you that play Ninigrets league in the rain may not want to stay for another hour or so with wet feet etc., and No Lunch.
A meeting at my place at 3pm will give y'all time to change into dry clothes and shoes and have some lunch before disscussing the proposed tournament at Ninigret Park this year.
I look forward to seeing you both and others at my place at 3pm. It should not take more than an hour if we all show up on time.
Till then take care and be safe out there in the rain flinging plastic.
Sincerely,
T.M.DYER

Tim, that was a great counterpoint/name drop there and I do remember it, however it was a re-run or “best-of” DVD or something. OK, so the weather forecast is for AM showers, which means we will be there for our weekly gathering of disc golf. This also means that by 1PM, the skies will be partly sunny and boast a mild temp.
Here is my counterpoint; people are not going to want to drive to your place to have a meeting when all of the people are already at one location (minus 1). Simple as that. I've already conveyed the ideas of the group last week when I drafted the letter, therefore, there isn't much to talk about which is detrimental to the tourney happening. Until we get the OK from the town, it doesn't make a hole (pun) lot of sense to go to your place to wax sentimental about TV shows and tourney's past. If you really want to get something going on this, I would suggest coming out Sunday and meeting with us there. If not, I’m afraid I will be calling you at 1 to chat again and our two person committee can begin.

Hey Matt,
Let me start by suggesting that two "people" does NOT a committee make.
I Know that R.I. is very small and "people" can't travel more than two minutes to do anything.
Just in case you have forgotten that I have been playing with a group of "people" since the mid 1980's at Miantonomi Park in Newport.
Just to drop a name that even you may know (Bob DeCosta) and others are interested in putting in there two cents.
And I believe that the three or four "people" that played league at Ninigret last week are not the only ones.
There were twenty five people who played at the most recent RI Frostbite Classic. Many from RI and elsewhere.
Maybe some of them are planning to show up at my place at 3pm.
Or...
Matt I think a lot of this internet banter is between just you and I ...
I look forward to more posiitive input from others beside just you..
Thanks for your continued enthusiastic support.
Sincerely,
T.M.DYER

Seems like it stands for us to have a meeting at ninigret at 1, after the AM showers, and then call tim after to let him know what we think are important things to be included in upcoming disc events. I know not everyone, and maybe this is just another assumption, is willing or has the time to devote to disc golf all day on sunday. Going to league, hanging out, then going to tims for the rest of the afternoon is not something many can do. Or is that another assumption? I am full of those, but I don't think I am making an ass out of anyone, just a simple reality check that we are all very busy in our lives. The six plus (on average) people that play league are generally those that do play more than most at ninigret and have valuable opinions. Meet us there at 1 and share your valuable opinions and some of that enthusiastic support.

The gathering of disc golf brought in five players. Matt D and Ryan G took first with a -5. Dave K and Jason took second.
On another note, looks like we had some vandals at the course at some point. Benches at the tee boxes were nocked over, the rock ring supporting hole 10's basket was torn down, hole 11's basket was damaged. Don't know who did this, but there are some guesses. Oh yeah, also, all the flags that were on the holes were removed. In fact, I think the money raised from the frostbite tourney went towards the purchase of those flags. I wonder where they could be??

Days of Our Lives continues, and so much drama. I wonder why nobody gets more involved. R.I. the crapiest state for discgolf in the history of our nation. I've lived here for seven years now, and we have an 18 hole campfire ring course in New Port (wow), an 9 hole plus 9 rock-well course in Ninigret (Wee), and a 9 hole course at some high school in North Smithfield (Ooh). This state blows, I'm moving to Massachusetts. Maybe there will be a 18 hole discgolf course in Rhode Island in my lifetime, but it is starteing to look unlikely.

Hey Matt check out snake den in johnston appearently they have a 1000 acres of rec space and thier looking for ideas to use there. I used to work for dem parks and rec and personally know the regional manager for our area but havent had any luck with them so far. I also think we might some sort of chance at pulaski state park they have a program there that allows people to apply to use areas of the park. Ill join the battle for RIcourses as soon as I arrive on scene . good luck sir youre a gentleman and a scholar .
