Thanks Tim. Maybe plain rope would be fine for the tourney. I've been thinking of asking a local scout troup if they'd like to earn merit badges for building stairs up to the 12th tee (and maybe a bench up there too).

Don't forget the built in O2 tank next to the bench.

15 tree

Post by Jay Ducharme »

Mike Morin and I worked on that stubborn tree blocking hole 15's fairway. We finally managed to move it to the right, opening up a pretty decent alleyway straight through. For the first time, the hole is playable the way it was intended. I know most players will still prefer the hyzer route, but now the original route is finally doable. If anyone tries it, let us know how you do.

So Karl, do you want me to let the brush grow up on the right side of the tee?

I played 15 today for the first time since it's been cleared. I aimed right down the middle, pulled my shot, whacked a tree and ended up with a bogie. But it does look much more inviting now, and I think many more players will opt for that route.

Played most of the course yesterday for third time, while in the area with the wife.
Still wicked fun course, even with the ice sheet covering many holes.
Hole 15 hyzer was denied by a limb to a direct drop onto road. good response by elderly gent walking dog,"do you get a mulligan for that?"
Shot of the day though was drive on #6: low liner tailwind(halo was wrong disc)straight until bleachers, hyzer skip through the 5' opening between dugout & backstop fence, to other side of diamond for clear long putt attempt.
Hope to be back soon,

Hole 9

Post by Jay Ducharme »

The modification to hole 9 proved successful in the winter tourney, so I'm going to make the change permanent. The tee will be moved back to the parking lot, lengthening the hole by about 20 feet and giving more stable footing. There currently are flags marking the spot. I'll have the numbers painted on the asphalt when the warm weather takes hold.
