Sports Authority has a deal if you pay an extra 10bucks,
and something goes wrong like discoloration, stitching, sole-
you can get the same shoe-color or a different color up to a year!
Dome has done this twice already...
Buy em from EMS or REI, and with no extra cost just return them once they break down I bought a pair of shoes 2 years ago for the Vibram and have returned them 4 times! and for different brands at times!

I got a pair of Merrell MOAB Mids, great shoe, Gore Tex works great, have play 7 - 10 rounds in them, wet, rain, snow...feet have stayed bone dry!!
Got them for 105 at EMS, the front toe started to come off so I brought them back, they didn't have any other Gore Tex shoe in my size except a new pair of MOAB's same shoe I already have, but I liked the shoes and they were worn into my feet, so instead of getting I new pair they gave me some free sole repair stuff, I put the stuff on and it works like a charm. Hell the tube says you can even make soles from the stuff. But EMS gave it to me for free and said if they rip or tear again bring them in and they'll give me a new pair.
EMS has great customer service and it doesn't cost a thing. OH yeah and I also bought this extra waterproofing spray that works with Gore Tex so that it still breathes. Sprayed them and they are still kicking!

I've had these Columbia Boots for 2 years and have had no problems with them. They stay warm and dry. They are flexable and have great grip for winter golf.

I have the same pair of Soloman boots I bougt about 3 years ago , and they are AMAZING I paid 140.00 for em at E.M.S. I dont know the make or model , but they weigh less than the pair of Samba indoor soccer sneakers I have on right now. They're Gore-tex and Thinsulate , go up a third of my shin/calve. Trudged thru B-land freezing rain and snow Minuteman one year and the only dry thing on me after 2 rounds of hell wheather was my feet. Boots are still in great shape , tread is good , and they even have a cool system with no tie lacing and a pocket for the extra lacing witch keeps even that dry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a MB thread on it on the PDGA web site under Equipment I think. But since it's put out there by AJ himself, you can be sure that it's biased (he being "comp'd" by Keen in some way or another). Initial thoughts (on the shoes) seem to be mixed - some like it, some not so much.

I have the milo's. I have been wearing them for the past three week's now. With my wide feet the toe box is great the heel is amazing. My only issue !! Would have to be once again the sole. On the heel there is a seperation piece on the sole. That single black rubber piece I fear may rip off when people pivot from their heel.

That is the biggest problem i've had with my boots. The outside portion of my left boot ALWAYS tears at the seam. ONLY on the left boot because of my run up, and the amount of tension that section of thet shoe is under.
I'm having a hard time finding a shoe that does not have that seem on the toe, but is still an "active" winter boot.
Suggestions?

I can't see how you guys tear thru the uppers so much....... I had these Columbias for two years and used them exclusively for DG summer AND winter and wore the tread off first. I'm wondering if it's a FIT issue here. I had a similar toe-side blowout issue when i wore shoes with too much width up in the toe area.

Jeff,
At first I thought it was a problem with the shoe being too small, so when I returned them I went up half a size. It happened again, and went up another half size. Size wise, they are probably half size too big, but that's just because I wear poly-pro liners and ragwool socks for winter golf.
It happens on any "active" shoe/boot I own. I may be small, but i'm certainly not the lightest golfer out there. The weight/pressure on the outside of my front foot is too much for the seam to handle. When they get wet, they have a little more "give" to them, and eventually just tear.
I've thought about putting some sort of sealant on them...

I was thinking about the weight issue too............ but me being 220+ and putting a LOT of pressure on my plant(right) foot should produce some type of shoe failure. Can these $70 Columbias be that tough? I guess I'd take a deeper look at our run-ups.
Another thing, I primarily play at J-Park, which has gravel tees........ could you be getting that much extra torque from flypads or concrete?
Maybe it's because you're a lefty?

Yeah the really thin ones. You have to wear something even if it's just a thinner pair of regular socks, something to wick the moisture away from your feet. The only wetness I feel in them is if my feet start really sweating. If you do decide on the sealskinz don't pay the extra for the "water blocker" model. It's the same thing as the normal one with what I would call a rubber rim on the top of the sock. These are for if you might go in water over the top of the sock. I really have no complaints at all about these things. Probably the best piece of gear I've invested in all season.
