Jeff Wiechowski wrote:My personal opinion is that NEXT YEAR we push Finals out another week so there's more time to run this invite thing. We're packing alot into the 13 days between the B/Land to NEFA Finals. An extra 7 days would give everyone more time to plan.
Come on Jeff, I did the registration for 2 years pretty much by myself, and another year Ryan Turncliff & I handled it, with only 1 week in between. The key was, as Pete said, was getting everyone's intentions whether they would attend or not ahead of time. The first year I did the registration, I ran the tournament too.
The Charter was changed so there would be no tournament the week before the finals, so now you have the luxury of 13 days.
You guys have done a great job organizing this with the website the way you have, it's clear as day what the players need to do. It would just make things alot easier for everyone if people would either sign up NOW, or say they are not coming NOW, instead of waiting till the last minute.
Please don't dominate the rap Jack, if you've got nothing' new to say.

Re: Register Here for NEFA Finals 2010
I wasn't this involved the past couple years so I'm kinda wingin' it as far as how past Finals were done. I agree that players need to speak up with their intentions. Most people in the top 5-10 of each division knew they'd be getting an invite. Most of the people that are now on the invite lists are registered here on the forum. But their are still a few "loose ends" that were/are unaware of the invite/registration details and a few more days would help track them down. Just me trying to make sure 100% are happy and informed.
Maybe i'm trying too hard...........it's all good.
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE 16th !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEEEEEEEEEEASE spread the word that the invite lists are here to those who don't visit the forum often/ever. Post up intentions!!!! The more we know are coming the smoother the pre reg will go after noon Wednesday.

Re: Register Here for NEFA Finals 2010
Jeff,
Derek Brazauskas, Rachael Hudson, Al Rosa, and Alan MacLean have all confirmed for my place for the weekend. Christian Keidel posted on the GMDGC forums that he was hoping to get in and now he is. I don't know if those count for confirmations or not but hopefully it helps clear the picture a bit. It seems Daniel Marcus and Greg Wintrob should also get their names in blue from their commitments on the division crossover thread.

Re: Register Here for NEFA Finals 2010
Looking forward to heading North
Greg Kurtz and Tim Jiardini will be attending
Question for Rick Williams.
Since each division knows how much money has been paid in, what will the payouts be for the Grandmasters division?
A, 60-40 split between the regular season and the finals. So how many dollars are in the tournament pool for my division?
Is the First place payout at Sugarbush going to hit $50?
Had a great time playing with all my fellow NEFAites this past season.
Looking forward to the problem of deciding where to go play each weekend next season.
The growth of disc golf in New England has been wonderful.
And congrats to Steve Brinster for an outstanding tournament at the USDGC!!!

Will the peak course be open to play on Sunday and if so, are the lifts running or will we be hiking it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

So I do not get paid until Friday and do not have the money to cover the entrance until then, however I am very interested in playing in the finals. Does this just mean I am screwed or can I work something out so that I register and pay on Friday before the tourney?

If a player that is invited and has no intention of going could (if permitted to) I be his replacement? I'm within in three of the wait list but wondered anyway,

I would ASSUME the answer would be no. That is the point of the waitlist. I don't believe it is like the lunch line in highschool where your friend can save you a spot so you can all sit together. This is only 1/2 full and there is only 1 day left on the reserved spots.

I don't think there is any rule or assumption that this needs to fill.

Well, sort of......... I'll use AM2 as an example:
There's currently 2 "invites" not paid for.
At noon Wednesday, John Giampapa & Peter Nevius are the next in line. Peter has voiced his intention to play so once he pays, John G needs to yes/no the last spot. Andy Allen is next(& blue) if John G declines.
I'd say the odds are against you playing, Matt. But stranger stuff has happened.
AM1's have 6 unused invites so at noon, the next 6 on the waitlist have first dibs. Everytime someone on waitlists that declines, the next player in line is "invited". etc etc etc.
THE KEY TO THIS IS THE WAITLISTERS NEEDED TO VOICE THEIR INTENTIONS SO I HAVE A "GO LIST" AS FAR AS WHO'S REALLY NEXT.

Re: Register Here for NEFA Finals 2010
well, allow me to help those who may be on the fence:
Friday: Rain. High near 45. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Showers. Low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Saturday: Showers likely. Cloudy and breezy, with a high near 43. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Also, it's very likely that Richardson will get bumped up to AM1... and Titan will run out of gas on the way up... soo I'll be there.

Re: Register Here for NEFA Finals 2010
Matt that is funny...thanks for the weather update and the fuel economy info of titans "danger-ranger". 43 degrees! Won't be any Motorcycles to pick him up this time.
So...what is going to happen if a field does not fill? For example the pro field? Are those invites going to be passed down to other divisions?

We're contemplating just that........ there are some Pro GMs that are stuck on the waitlist. We'd like to keep the Pro invites for other qualified Pros...........same goes for the Am invites.
Jason Toothaker and John Montgomery are STILL not paid for !!!!! These will be open invitations at noon today !!!If someone has their contact info, PLEASE call them or forward it to me.
