I agree with the weeknight working, as I don't think I'll be able to make it out this coming weekend.

Any opinion on work for this weekend? Saturday or Sunday? We'll work whichever day people are free.

Maybe saturday I could, but don't plan around me. I know Friday evenings aren't exactly the best but I might be able to get out early (like 3) on Friday and help out until dark.

Hole 3 fairway cutting is done thanks to some help from one Mr. Kovo. Now who's showing up Saturday?

Work yesterday was a grind, but the progress was excellent. Hole 3 is essentially good to go. Hole 2 needs a lot of clearing and limbing. One nasty brush area left too. Thanks to Matt, Louis, Tony and Ryan for the hard work. Still on pace for 6 baskets by June if we keep this up.

Busy weekend with Mothers Day. Short work party from 7-10 on Saturday. If anyone has experience with brush mower maintenance, I could use your know how.
Still working for 6 baskets by the first weekend in June. Come help make it happen.

Re: Dacey Community Fields
The brothers Willey, Louis, and Greg took care of the hole 5 green on Saturday AM. Damn was that thing thick. Looks great now. Thanks for the hard work. Got the brush mower going again too. All better now (kind of).
Impromptu work party this evening. Two men and 3 hours later, hole 4 is 90% ready to go. Just have to clear the brush piles.
I'd like to say thanks to Tony for really stepping up and contributing a lot. He's been around almost every week since we've started and we'd definitely be way further back if it wasn't for him.
There is a good amount of brush clearing that needs to be done on 2, 4, and 18. If anyone has free time to help get our fairways clear this weekend it would be huge. More info on exact time and date later in the week. If we keep working at this rate I'll be pouring concrete on Memorial Day.
We're still on track for a 6 hole loop with baskets by the first weekend in June, but we need everyone's continued support to do it. This place will be great when it's done. Let's get it there.

No problem. Like I said I'd like to help out as much as I can now while I have free time. Plus the hardest thing is getting started, after that its rolling with the momentum. Any plans for Thursday?

Re: Dacey Community Fields
There will be a work party this weekend on Saturday morning from 7:00 - 11:30AM. The hole 1 tee extension and hole 2 fairway both need to be cleared out. In my absence, Brett Willey will be at Dacey this weekend to provide guidance as to what needs to be done.
On Memorial Day weekend we wil make the final push to complete holes 1-5 & 18. We will be working part of Saturday, Sunday and Monday that weekend, with basket foundations being poured on Monday.
Please come out and give us a hand. Two more weekends of hard work and we will be rewarded with 6 playable holes.

Only a two man crew this past weekend, but the hole 1 extension was cleared and hole 2 looks a hell of a lot better. Thanks for the hard work guys.
I'll be at Dacey around 5 tomorrow. If you can make it, feel free to come check out the course.
We'll be working all 3 days this coming weekend. Come down and give us a hand.

Re: Dacey Community Fields
Big effort this weekend at Dacey. Work parties are scheduled for Saturday (7-12), Sunday (7-4), and Monday (7-12). Plenty to do to get 1-5 ready for baskets. An Eagle Scout Project will also be underway clearing hole 10. Play through of 1-5 on Monday with a portable basket if we make enough progress. Still looks like we'll begin setting baskets Monday. Come out and help make it happen.

Re: Dacey Community Fields
Big weekend last weekend at Dacey. Thanks to Matt, Greg, Pete, and Louis for the hard work. Serious work done to make hole 2 a reality (its finally playable!!!). Craig's Eagle Project went great as well. He planned to clear hole 10 and damn did he do a good job. Probably nicest hole on the course right now.
Worked for a few hours with Brett and Tony Wednesday night. Thanks for helping get the hole 6 fairway started guys. Pete also stopped by and installed some temporary bucket baskets.
Here's how things stand right now:
Hole 1: Bucket basket installed, needs touch up weedwacking
Hole 2: Bucket basket installed, needs remaining brush cleared and wood piles moved
Hole 3: Bucket basket installed, needs touch up weedwacking
Hole 4: Needs wood piles chipped, posion ivy sprayed, some additional brush clearing, and some fairway extension work near the tee
Hole 5: Bucket basket installed, needs remaining trash pile moved, and touch up weedwacking
Hole 6: Fairway under construction, bucket basket installed
Hole 10: Bucket basket installed, Needs some additonal fairway clearing near pin
Hole 18: Needs additional fairway clearing, brush removal, and wood piles chipped
With the bad weather forecasted for this weekend we are not working on Saturday. Sunday is still up in the air. Update on potential work Sunday tomorrow evening.

Re: Dacey Community Fields
Despite the rain, more work by Craig and the boy scouts on hole 10 on Saturday. Looks excellent.
Tony and I worked yesterday afternoon and finished cutting out the hole 6 & 7 fairways. At this point we have 9 of 18 fairways opened up.
Some simple "next hole" signs were put up and access paths for holes 4, 6, and 7 were cut. Bucket baskets are in place on holes 1-6 & 10 as well.
We're going to take some time this week to better define the tee areas and put up some simple hole maps. Work this weekend will be on Saturday.

Tony, Mark, and I cut hole 8 on Wednesday night. Nice big uphill shot. Hole 10 is now hole 9. As of Wednesday night, 10 fairways have been put in.
Work tomorrow from 7am to 1pm. Going to be getting holes 6-8 all prettied up. Come give us a hand.

Re: Dacey Community Fields
El duderino and I took sometime Saturday morning and cleared off hole 8. Just like hole 9 (formally hole 10) except uphill. Extended hole 6 about 60ft as well.
I met with another scout named Austin who will be completing an eagle project at Dacey. He is planning to clear two fairways!
Played 1-3, 5, 6, 8, & 9 with temporary baskets. Lots of variety and tons of fun.
We'll be working tomrrow night from 4 - 8:30 clearning downed trees from holes 6 and 7. I'd like to have both clear for the weekend. If you've helped before you'll be impressed with the progress we've made. If you've never been down there you'll be surprised by what Dacey has to offer. Either, come give us a hand.

Re: Dacey Community Fields
There is something big happening this weekeend at Dacey...
Can you say baskets? Who likes baskets? I do I do!!
We're planning to set baskets on 1-3, 5-9 and 17 this weekend. There is still a lot to do to bring these holes up to speed though. I will be working at Dacey every night this week to get 6,7, 17, and the redesigned hole 1 (now with water hazard) cleared for the weekend. I need as much help as I can get both this week and Saturday/Sunday to make this happen.
Work will start around 5:00PM Tuesday-Friday and 7:30AM on Saturday and Sunday. Come give us a hand. Tony and I can't build this place all by ourselves.

Any hands are useful! Even to drag brush!
