Vandalism seems to be a pretty large issue, especially
when it comes to "recycling" metal .............. now, I
know that galvanized metal is pretty much useless -
but that doesn't mean that an individual won't try. My
thought is to assemble the baskets, then fill the entire
tube with cement -- any other thoughts in this regard?

If you haven't thought of it, do the crete on the basket separate from the hole so they are moveable. You could put a thin tube or coat the bolt with tape or vaseline so it can be easily put in and out.

So, as many of you know and can see by the old posts, the Keney Park Disc Golf Course IS finally approved!!!!! I and a few others have been working on this since 2010 and it has been a long battle with the City of Hartford. The 18-hole course will be long with two-pin positions per hole, A and B layouts. It occupies a beautiful part of the park and will be a destination course. We have already purchased the baskets and with some good workdays we should have this installed by spring. The city will offer no help, so we are on our own. The park is old growth forest and open fields, so our workdays will consist primarily of clearing brush, stacking piles, and cleaning up garbage. This has been an ordeal with countless hours of meetings, discussions, walk trough's, and BS from the city representatives, BUT we are done with that!!!! We have also paved the way for future disc golf within the city. I want to personally thank Dave Mourad and Joe "lick Me" Proud for their continued support, as there input was very helpful. I look forward to opening day!

WORKDAY This Saturday March 5th, 2016. I am planning the first workday for Keney Park for this Saturday. I need volunteers to move brush and Lop small trees and saplings. We will work from 8:30-1pm ish and I think we can get a lot done. We are stacking the brush into "Habitat piles", so we don't need to move it too far. Any help would be appreciated! We will meet at the first available parking lot on right as you enter from Ridgefield street entrance. Look for a grey Ford Pickup and my smiling face!! I will provide loppers and gloves. Hope to see y'all there!

Workday Saturday May 28, come one, come all, let us clear the final holes, and make way for ground sleeves and tees!!! 9-1 , meet at lookout mountain, highest point halfway through the park, from Ridgefield entrance. Will have gloves available.
