Top team picks finals location for the top 6 and it can't be anyone's home course. Top 2 that day move up to A pool next year.

Bottom half go to Hylands, because that place is awesome.

Let's hear thoughts/opinions.

Thanks.

excellent, I agree .

just a thought.. but if we have 6 teams with 20 players, that would make for a crowded course

still only 16 players per round.

How does the B Pool want to determine the top 6? I see two possibilities.

1. Win your division and you're in. Remaining 3 spots are wildcards for the remaining teams with the best record.

2. Just top 6 best records.

*Tiebreaker is head to head results.

Where are the divisions listed? I just see the schedule.

I don't see the resulting 6 being much different either way...

choice 2

and if there are any ties for the top 6 best records...

if the 3rd place team in div 1 has the same record and teams 3,4,5 from div 2.. who gets in?
many senarios could happen

if we have divisions then we should use them.. top 2 from each and if there are ties within then its head to head victories (like MLB)

I don't quite get what you're saying. It'd be the top 6 best records, regardless of which division you're in. If you're tied and haven't played head to head, you play for it or the two captains can agree to whatever they want.

Essentially there wouldn't be divisions.

i will try to simplify.. say the top 4 team are in via their record but we have a 4 way tie for the next best record.. who goes?

and if finals are determined by record, then why do we have divisions?

i think there needs to be a better outline.. but i am new so i dont really know how to approach or settle this except through examples of organizations that have been around for yeeeeeaaars like Major League Baseball

and if captains have to agree, then on what? flip a coin, rush to get another match in.. just trying to cover bases

The divisions were to try and help me balance the schedules. They were based on last years finals results, then order of new teams signing up.

Like I said, if it's just top 6, there are essentially no divisions.

If there's a tie and the teams haven't played head to head, then they play for it. IF they don't want to play, then captains can come up with something. (Every team has played for it in the past.) Could be flip a coin, send a doubles team to decide, rock paper scissors, bribery etc.

I agree with you about utilizing divisions, but it's ultimately up to the B Pool captains to decide. Either way there can be ties with such a short season.

which is why i would say the top 3 in each division.. then the head to head would matter..

Second sat in April is actually the 7th for Finals not the 8th like first post says right?

If predetermined passes, we will then vote on the course(s).

The date will be the second Saturday in April, which is the 8th.

Also on the tournament schedule Finals is on Sat April 14th, 2012.

So which date is it and is it the same date for A pool and top and bottom half of b pool?

Finals is on the second Saturday wich is the 14th. It will be the same date for a pool, and the b pool. I believe the top seeded team will choose a neutral site.
