Well....I just noticed that the Capt. is down a few % on drinking capabilities over Tully. What up? :drunken: :drunken: :drunken:

That ain't right. It ain't "bleep'n" right.

Looking forward.

I don't think that i'll be able to make this one...all these dates are tough for me.
I guess Oct. 2nd or nov. 5th would be the only possible long shots.

Can you guys just set one of these in stone so I can begin my extreme crusade of convincing my wife that I promise not to blackout and drive myself to Newark, NJ after a team challenge event?

Thanks.

The challenge will be 5 minutes from your house. Even if you blackout, I doubt you'd end up in newark! 8-)

November 5th is the day before Daylight savings Time ends. If we play two rounds and it is 100+ holes per round, it is going to be tough to be done before dark. On October 5th in Warwick, the sun will set at 6:38pm. On November 5th, it will set at 4:48pm.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

I'm going to make a strong vote/push for Oct. 2nd, because we have to travel to Burgess for our November challege. That's easily a 5 hour drive for many of us. I think we should have as many dates available for that challenge because of Thanksgiving, holiday season starting, etc.

If October 2nd really doesn't work for you guys, I understand. I'm just trying to think ahead for my team.

After a quick email huddle, at least 3 Cap'n players can't do 10/2.

And daylight savings takes effect on 11/6 so we don't lose that hour of light until Sunday (besides, we play team challenges on most of the shortest days of the year anyway)

And and we have 106 holes to choose giving us the ability to react and to choose a shorter course if need be for the second round.

And and and I said I'd host any and all of you clowns. Take the month to practice and build up your tolerance, we're all gonna need it. :drunken:

Love,
Joe

Hey Tully,
Ahh, scheduling, the price we pay to have so much fun.

So it looks like we've narrowed it down to 10/2 and 11/5.

Since you guys are travelling, we'll let you pick what works better for you.

Let us know.

Peace,

People, people... take a moment to ponder this. From the most of the time sound thinking, but seems to be misguided this time, ponytailed one:
Warwick sounds great. I just hope it isn't an early start, since it is over four hours away. Will we get to play all of the holes?

Why would you want to travel over 4 hrs down to Warwick on a Sunday and see who can keep up with the CL team beverage consuming during two rounds on a monster course and then drive back 4 hours that night - only to have to work the next day? If (and that's a big IF) you make it home that is...
Gara is offering us a place to stay the weekend of November 5th, which is on a Saturday minutes away from the course. Gives you a full Sunday to recoup, which by the sounds of it is going to be entirely necessary. C'mon now... is there really any reason for a debate over the two dates?

AHHHHHTY, I wouldn't say Warwick in a monster course...It's nowhere near the size of a Maple Hill type layout......B-B does play around a par 64 but i would say that it's fairly compact.
Here is another bone we will most likely offer any of our competitors at Warwick....For heads up match play or doubles, you guys can pick what ever course, layout, configuration you want.....Of course if you are unfamiliar with Warwick we can offer suggestions. We know how to drink any layout imaginable at that place... :drunken:

Hahaha... hi Scott. What I should have said is that Warwick is a monster of a course (as in world class - yes I have played it) and really should be enjoyed over a weekend rather than rushed in a single Sunday. I can't wait for this matchup, but am willing to wait until November if it makes for a better experience. It is going to be fun.

You guys could always come down on saturday 10/1 and practice the course with the locals not playing in the Cran Classic. That way you could make a weekend out of it. I have some floor space I could possibly offer up for Saturday night about 45 mins from the course.

So Arty, based on your arguement, wouldn't it make the most sense to stay over the night of the challenge? Unless you had hoped to stay two nights? So if I'm only staying one night, I would still rather it wasn't a too early start, say 10:00?

We could probably get away with a 10AM start in early October....It's all up to you guys! Another thing is that October 2nd is Applefest in Warwick....http://www.warwickapplefest.com/

It's a big deal in town....If you like apple anything, it's the place to be

Correction, seconds from the course, directly across the street. And unless you guys wear out your welcome Friday, you are welcome to stay both nights, enjoy your extra hour of daylight savings sleep Sunday morning, and play whatever holes you missed at the challenge before heading home.

Only on 11/5 can MOJO can get a crack to avenge a rare loss to Arty & company. Was it Sully w Arty? I forget as I've mentally blocked out all losses.

Sorry Seans, I gotta take a stand, I don't wanna miss a home match!

I would plan on the 5th

we have a team meeting on sept 28th..so I would go out on a limb and say I doubt we would go on the 2nd

I am trying to get NOV TC date set up as well right now...Nov is gonna be just as busy as Oct now..

I know many don't wanna travel then work/school..arty is kinda on with that...although I don't care

so basically we have a month of smack talking to do..!

Okay, Rob, I'll be honest. I can't do October 1st/2nd weekend, but I am wide open for Novermber 4th, 5th and 6th. If you guys decide on the 2nd I can live with that and will cheer you on from afar. However, I stand firm on my belief that is a good idea not to take a 4 hour drive home after a match with team Captain Lawrence. Oh and Joe, yes it was Sully and myself that took down team MoJo. That was a fun round. For some reason I can't remember my singles match though.

Firstly, who's bringing a snowblower CTP that always starts on the second pull?

I like the sound of the 5th. Nevermind the fact that the Fall Final is the 2nd of Oct, we have some teammates making the trip to SC for the USDGC and playing on Sunday the 2nd may get in the way of travel plans. (I just wish I could afford to be one of those traveling  )
