It is rough but it Will test even the best out there i played first couple holes took a 5 on 1 and 4 on 2 had to use a thumber to get over trees on 2 missed long putt but course is playing very well

How does one go about joining a team?

It's usually by invitation. Some teams have tryouts.
Last year the Northampton team was led by Juano Flores and Kelly Conroy. You should get in touch with one of them.
The season doesn't start until the late fall, so you've got some time to figure things out.
