You couldn't beat me at burgess, how are you gonna beat me at home??
Back on topic: I'm psyched to try chucks imperial pilz tomorrow!
I felt bad for you so I gave it to you on the 18th hole.

Falconer's IPA and a Black IPA just moved to secondary. Will dry hop heavily for 10 days. Started a Chocolate Oatmeal Stout yesterday. Used Cocoa nibs and powder in the boil. I will put more nibs in the same way as I would dry hop. The pipeline is flowing.

Nice, I just bottled another American Ale. I have to get a keg system going soon. Its way too much work bottling and I hate waiting for the brew to carb up.
word definitely have to keep an eye on this thread, i've done two all extract brews (came out awful) and one all grain (came out great). plan on doing another all grain brew in the next month, more than likely a hoppy-er pale ale.

How about a tournament for all us homebrewers where the entry fee is home brew and the payout/CTPs are beers? It would need to be a private course. I sure Franchi could be talked into this one. Maybe a day round and a night round.
I have a chocolate milk stout and a raspbery wheat to brew while I'm on paternity leave. I'm also lucky enough to live next door to a homebrewer, who always has two beers on tap. I'm always happy when he asks to borrow a tool.
Sometimes I wonder, "Why is that disc getting bigger?". Then it hits me.

I like but...what about ALL us who wanna pay to drink all your beers? must be an entry for us just drinkers to have fun as well
Steve, where is your sense of adventure? We should do the tasting beforehand.
The other idea is to play a skins format, but every basket already has beer on the green. If you win the hole, you have to drink the beer. It is a self-handicapping system.

I just read up on that technique. Looks pretty cool, two beers one batch.
Just bottled two IPAs. The Falconers kit smells like fruity pebbles. Dry hopped for 10 days with 4oz of Falconers 7c's and 1oz of Simcoe. The BIPA also had 5oz of hops and has a great aroma as well.

i have an over abundance of belgian candy if anyone wants some....got a 50 lb sack and wont need it all. tasty way to boost the octane of any beer a percent or 2.
i'm going to be growing some hops this summer, i ordered my rhizomes from beer and wine hobby in woburn last week and i pick them up first week of april, got cascade, chinook and centennial. would definitely be down to be part of some sort of trading scheme. i also had some left over grain and hops and kind of did a frankenbrew of sorts last week, will probably be either an imperial amber or a double ipa, if all goes well it will end up 8.5% and have 122IBUs. warrior, chinook and cascade were used.

Nice! I love doing the mish-mosh of random ingredients brew! I did that recently and created a fine imperial PilZ on the fly. Turned out awesome! A ridiculous amount of Saaz hops.
awesome! saaz is a nice hop, love the peppery aroma and that would be tight in a pilz. i used warrior for bittering, then added chinook at 45 and 30 and cascade at 15 and flame out. my tongue is going to love/hate me for this.
i like making my recipe once i start my boil and completely shoot from the hip. I use a program called beersmith. best 20 bucks i've ever spent on brewing.
I'm down with the Hop growing. My plan is three raised beds each with a large (12'+) high centerpole/post.
If anyone is willing to give a clipping of their hops I would get it going at my place. I would rather go with this method in hopes to generate more yeild then if starting from the beginning w/rhizomes.
Since hops can grow up to a foot in a day, up to a good thirty feet, I would use as tall of a pole as you can. Last harvest, I stood on the roof of my shed and had to use my 15' pole saw to get some of the hops down. They had got a little rogue and had climbed up nearby trees.

brewed an IPA over the weekend hopped with nugget, and cascade pellets, and got some whole raw citra hops from this brew store in salem NH. added a little orange peel and some clear candi sugar at the end of the boil. smelled amazing, can't wait to bottle.
Nice! I finally brewed the Parti Gyle batch last week!
A monster IIPA Comin in at over 24 Brix!(which is like 1100 gravity) Hopped with massive amounts of Warrior, Simcoe, Amarillo and Citra. Probably be about 11.5%
And a beautiful IPA from the 2nd runnings. Similar hops profile. Probably be about 6.75%. Both will be dry-hopped with large amounts of Centennial and Citra!
jesus man, those sound awesome. citra is kind of a new to me (well at least no beer i can think of that i've tried has a prominent citra profile that i'm aware of) hop and i've been using it a lot lately, absolutely love it.
