Sunday 1pm is the time..I may stay the night in NH and work monday as well to finish what needs to be done for this green light

just so we have a log derek for you to refer to

orange tape will be CUT
pink is merely a marking tape for reference

2 flags will be the tee and 1 flag is the pin...last time I got 2 colors of flags the red ones suxed to see..I could not find 2 bright colors at store this time so bright orange for tees and basket "cultivation areas"

I think it is vital that we think "newbs" right from the gate and include the short tees in the design right from the start..for one the rangers should know about everything right from the gate..I am not a fan of just shortened tees for newbs..it makes ya feel like a sissy..my design mentality is to offer a "different" shot(that is easier to execute) on a hole when land/terrain allows it and only "shorten the tee mentality" where we have certain land restrictions(property lines, wetlands,no way to create trail, ect ect)..

any where there may be issues..2-3 alts will be offered for rangers to decide upon..as we can't keep wasting time for them to ok a layout...we will layout all options that best work for DG and ACOE explain the why's and explain this is what we have to work with unless different land is allotted....at some point the trust between DG and ACOE needs to be established that we know WTF we are doing and trust this will work as we have considered all possibilities..if this trust can't be established then we will all just go in circles or be forced to put in a subpar course that would not get the intended effect originally desired

I have the art of ranger ball tickling down from my years working at Tully  8-)

Sounds like a solid game plan, if I am not completely spent from Saturday's Triatholon, I will be there.
I'd be a lot better if those trees didn't get in the way.

design for 18 holes of disc golf..with 2 tee locations is set for an official green light..

once the rangers walk through I am comfortable saying they will approve the design
as stated above we are within all the "must"

there is 18 great DG holes out there

we have softened the blow for the walk to 1,18, and off season link from upper lot hole 4

hopefully 18 over the river is still available..if not we end at 17 and another sweet hole flanks off from 16..thus making hole 17..18.

to the left of the campsite..looking at it from parking area there is only ONE location within any reasonable distance..as there is an old cart road that is built up to allow access across the marsh/wetland areas..this could easily be culverted and raised in future if need be as well..the ACOE is great for doing stuff like that so not far from reality to have that improved in future

this will allow the course to finish and flow towards gate/parking area..and be semi close to link back to hole 1

hole 1 is to the right of the campsite..and shoot down lateral with roadish to a green linking to big downhill hole

there are 3 spots we can get onto the course to the right..as the cliffish area only provides 3 access points that are reasonable..this would be a ACOE call IMO as eventually would even be great to construct something to allow better walking..the green is set and there is three great seams to take depending on the final choice of entry..

ok that said we have all are logistics covered and we know where we start/finish
we have all the property lines under control and we know to keep a buffer from the campsite and the flood zones...

all 18 holes are flagged out and marked well with removable tape to depict the flow for the rangers..flags for tees/pins are set..once they green light we will mark all to be "cut" trees

we made great use of the carts roads for intersecting points to allow ease of access for work/walking ect ect

plenty of room for some future evolving and plenty of space to stack debris out of the way...found good solid areas for tee cultivation and crazy visual popping greens

I will post more soon..and will try to get some help for someone to map it out now and overlay if on google earth..or something

good news..once greenlit..next phase starts..

It was an awesome day in the woods, watching this come together is sweet. This is going to be something special when all is said and done. Watching Titan in action is cool as well, (I may be biased though, he did chase down the ice cream truck and hooked me up with a heathbar crunch)

Still learning how to post images, I may need some tech support, I read the instructions and followed them on the user control panel but no luck. Good thing I have a very good friend who is a tech nerd, HEY DREW :)

he did chase down the ice cream truck

strangest thing was..I just was thinking in my head it would be nice if an ice cream truck came through..and bam..next thing ya know an ice cream truck came by

the song was cool..but the sound of it fading and the thought that I may miss out on awesome icecream made me have to take to a brisk walk..still can't run my foot kinda hurts..about a mile later it seemed I caught it...just never gets old chasing down the ice cream truck

the last corner rob came out sick I found a "green lagoon" no BS and a sick hole..one that I have been looking for out in the woods of late(at all my projects) and have not found the terrain for it..finally found it number 15..number's 16,17 are real nice as well.wait till ya see em..and of course if we can still go over the river KACOE will get that epic finishing hole and another terrain feature the river..if not we make 17 more epic and use this last chunk for a new 16..already scouted the area needed to do this...rewalked the entire thing as a whole..looked,flowed sweet, can't wait to see these holes brought to fruition by the ACOE and overall another dead chunk of land brought to life by Disc Golf

TY rob you helped out a bunch today in extra eyes,motivation..finding those 2 cart roads(path to go over lagoon, and that fine seam hole 9) were crucial..and looking back that other hole ya suggested and marked makes sense as the area I wanted to use kinda is close to 16,17..so it was good we used that one for 10

I had fun today cya all soon

Great news guys! Rob, let's shoot for a day this week to walk the course, with the new layout. I'm thinking Tuesday at 5 if your are available?

par 60ish and 55ish from alt tees

I think people will enjoy this layout...we should get a full photo log of holes as well, maybe when you guys walk it?

edit we should think about tee material soon..so we can include that into the process when doing this walk through with army core...while natural tees are cool for a lil bit..long term tees need to be installed..they may have a stock pile of material somewhere..and often the core doesn't mind buying subgrade/stonedust..if they have machines out there when clearing fairways..they might just dig the tees out then..to not have machines out there as many times

you don 't need the works pavers, ect ect..but ya do need a solid base for future installation of pads

Schedule is pretty tight this week, Ideally, I'd like Titan to come up and be the "guide" for the walkthrough, I'd like to be a part of this and will do a complete photo shoot of the holes, I have a fairly good idea of the flow, but he knows exactly. It's hard to keep up with his brain.
What Works for you Titan? we can try to plan accordingly.

hmmm this week is tough..

if I do go I would rather have more time then 5pm...as gates close at 6pm
I am suppose to go to Royalston F&G tuesday AM with JB..we could then drive up to Keene..just tough to commit as I may be tired we have a fairway to clear up there

wedz is no go as I am hoping to finally start the basket construction for holtshire road wedz..and lost and found before league wedz at Tullz

thurs/fri I am scheduled to caddy for dodge at the Vibram

sat..sure life will need to attended to..lol

sunday seems to be a norm to head down to the final round of Vibram with sullz from tullz

next week..unless Tuesday lines up..saturday is more free then I expect

I need another color tape..maybe bright green or yellow..for the "cut trees mark" as I had to use orange and pink for marking(ran out of pink)

if I come I wanna come early and get the alt tee's all marked as some require a different cut in spots as they come from a different angle in a few spots

thinking saturday(if available) early or next monday/tues I will be there early and ya can meet me up there or something?

I think Garmin has something that you can mark "tracks" and then overlay it onto a map. Any GPS experts wanna chime in?

OUCH!

I'll check this tomorrow when I get out of work, if you can't make it, my vote is we wait until you can, I have a pretty good idea of the flow but still think your presence is necessary, Thursday may be tight, I could do Friday. This weekend is full: Tully Ace Race SAt and workday Sun. Where does the time go?

irony...I ended up in Keene yesterday afternoon...a buddy of mine wanted to buy some of those hedgehog boots..I had nothing to do so I shot up with him..ate at some hippy joint on main street..but he is a senior citizen so not much interest in hanging out for hours at the course...

rob we could use some yellow(bright) and some more pink tape

tuesday it is..

truck goes into shop today...so I envision 6 days should be ample time to repair
