How about a course update if anyone played today or is going to tomorrow, I have a two hour drive and want to know whats up before I make the commitment.
I'd be a lot better if those trees didn't get in the way.

Shouldn't be any real snow on the ground. Heard that the tee boxes may be a little muddy. However, Monday, the ground will be frozen solid!

I played from the shorts today and took a look at some of the longs. Some were muddy and slick..some with some light snowy patches...others fine.

They should be frozen solid tomorrow.

Been hoping to see some progress in terms of the tee pads. Any work days scheduled?

Tee-pads would be cool, but have no clue about any plans for installation.

Some prep was done to the first tee in December but I'm hoping that's not the legit set-up...it's not even facing the fairway.

I had a meeting with the recreation department earlier in the week. Before we move forward with tee pads there are a number of tasks we need to address first. A new bridge need to be built on hole 1, walkways through wet areas need to be cleaned up and finished, the hole 14 basket and hole 15 long tee need to be moved, and signage indicating environmentally sensitive areas as well as next tee signs and additional arrows need to be put up.

At this point work is on hold while our plans are approved by the powers that be. We should be starting on these tasks in about a month. Also, due to concerns the rec department has with rogue work being done at Dacey, I have to ask that people refrain from working independantly at Dacey until our plans are solidified.

Work on tees should begin sometime this summer. Before this is begun we need to prepare access for equipment as I don't plan to dig and fill the tees and move the material to the various locations by hand.

What's the problem with the bridge on hole 1 presently?

I'm guessing they want railings. That river was flowing pretty good last time I was there.

Yep, John nailed it. They want railings. Safety thing. The bridge is off to the side of the fairway enough that I don't think they'll interfere with throws. I'll always love our little bridge though Pete.

The tee for hole 15 had to move due to its proximity to a neighbor. It's no longer on the ledge. It has been moved to the trail, about 30ft away from the old position.

Does anyone know who put out the new colored tee flags and the yellow tees? I'm assuming it was Toddy.

I believe Toddy put those up.

What rogue work is being done on the course? I've been there recently and haven't noticed any changes other than the flags being put down.

At least one person, most likely a neighbor, has been doing some cutting in the back. There are some new paths that have been put in as well. With the course gaining popularity and becoming more visible in town I think the rec department just wants to be sure they retain control over things out there.

No clue about the cutting. The only hole I noticed with trees removed was hole 13 and had heard it was the guy that lives right there.

As far as new pathways...I think those are from general usage., not something people cut to install. The one from 6-7 is much better than the boardwalk.

Course is playing well right now.

First off big thanks to Toddy B for setting up the short tee sets at Dacey. Between the yellow and red tees, he managed to hit every location we were thinking of for short tees.

If you want to play the layout closest to what will be the future legit short layout (second tees) here is the order to play things:

1 - Red, 2-Red, 3-Yellow, 4-Red, 5-Red, 6-Red, 7-Yellow, 8-Red, 9-Yellow, 10-Yellow, 11-Red, 12-Yellow, 13-Yellow, 14-Yellow, 15-Red, 16-Red, 17-Yellow, 18-Red.

I played this layout a few times last weekend and its a ton of fun. At least 2/3 of it has some nice ace opportunities.

New course map posted on the course Facebook page. The tee and basket locations and hole lengths aren't perfect yet. They will be updated as soon as I get my hands on a nice, new, vastly more accurate GPS unit. White flags should be going out soon. Until then, if you want to play the short layout, use the tee order posted above.

Very cool course!! Played Saturday. Got my 9th ace. Hole 7 red tee. Aviar. Course is awesome. I see it becoming a way better course with some tee pads. Keep up the great work. Nice meeting you, Jay Mello

Played a round yesterday. New tee signs look wonderful! Any plans on putting pars/distances on them?

Also, If you are allergic to poison ivy, I strongly recommend you just skip hole 4. The entire field in between the tee and the wooded basket is essentially all poison ivy.

Lost an X-Out orange FL on the right side of hole 10. Name & Number are on it if anyone stumbles across it.

Played the new Reds yesterday with two friends who are new to the sport. We all really enjoyed it. Shorter approaches, but still some very challenging approaches to the basket. Nice job!
