Lost a white destroyer with a blue tiger on it off to the left on hole 4, I think the leaves ate it. On another note it sort of gets confusing to find where the tee box is on hole 4, and 15 thru 17 unless you are familiar with the course.

Unfortunately, the local kids seem to take most of the discs when they are lost.
There will be a lot of work done this year, as much as we can afford. John Nolan and Jeepkid are determined!
I'll be there today @ 5ish if anybody is up for a round.

Got to play Page for the first time a few weeks ago. Fun track!
A couple of weeks ago, I got a call that someone found a teebird of mine from that day (Jim or James?). I do not have your contact info, but wanted to follow up. I've been traveling and haven't been back up there. Prob slim chances of it still being hidden away for me?
Am hoping to head out there on Sunday. What time do the festivities begin?
Cheers!

Bump, the "earth day" work day was postponed due to rain.
We are back on for this Sunday 9/29, come help if willing and able.
Cleanup the course, build a tee, and play

Thanks to the people who came early and late. We really got a lot done, 1-5 have had storm damage all cleaned to the best of our ability, 3 and 5 particularly, there was some thinning and lot of cleaning in the most common landing areas. There is an abundance of lost discs on these two holes in certain areas, so those are the areas we focused on. 1-5 look great and will look outstanding once we blow the fairways. But the real gems of yesterday...
Two shiny new tee pads!!
One on 5, one on 6.
More than half the holes now have paver stone or tar tees.
Only 4, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17 have dirt tee pads.
I will attempt to list our helpers but I always forget someone. Everyone busted ass, but I have to give a special shout to Willy and Justin for the tee pad building, and Mike S who put in a monstrous days work. Mike put his truck and shovel to work hauling a LOT of material from the town yard to the course. Willy and Justin brought all the necessary tools to do the tees right, as well as experience doing said work properly and drive to get them done. I believe we only got both done because how quickly these guys were able to do what used to take 5 hours.
You can tell they, along with everyone else that came yesterday, really want to improve the course.
Of course this does not diminish everyone elses work, we all busted ass, thank you to Tony, Falls, Guidone, Justin, Jimi, Eric, Ditter came out as soon as he was available, Shawn the only organized one prior to the whole thing, and the reason the work day happened in the first place, and I was there but meh.
After work was done, we played a round of singles, and literally no karma was to be found, I think we were all too tired to let karma shoot a good game for us.
But...
Shawn surprised everyone with a table full of prizes after the round, everyone left with something. Hats, tshirts, discs, ponchos, koozis, a sweatshirt, fun!!!

Not sure if anyone has ever brought up the idea of a Page Park team. I would be interested in getting onboard as I play this course more often than any other.

I know there has been chatter of a Page Team, however some of us are already on other teams.
You should come to league Monday or Saturday, those are the guys most likely to want to start a Page team

Hey Page-Boys!
I need your help. There is a walk-through on the property in Peabody, MA this Thursday night. A handful of neighbors are expressing concern about the big, scary unknown--a disc golf course in an abandoned area park next to their neighborhood!
I ask if you have any links to any stories or any pictures that I might bring with me. Peabody's situation reminds me a lot of Page Park in terms of the section of the city, the type of city, and the park's geography.
Thanks,
Stew

You should also ask Adam Goodman on the Bridgeport Park City thread as I know that Adam has cited a couple of local media (print and TV) pieces that have been done on that course. Also, new and in a park that was "largely dormant".

Page Park work day Sunday Oct. 14th! Any help will be appreciated. You guys know the drill! Shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows... It shouldn't be too hot by then.

Okay it's time to amp up for The work day Sunday! Please bring wheelbarrows, hand trucks, gloves (for the ladies of course), music, shovels, discs, and anything anyone might think could help.
I'm thinking about cooking out on the deck at noon, at the lot if deemed more convenient for everyone. We can pool a lunch fund, I've got a cool little grill.
I think a round at 3 or 4 would be a smooth finish to a rough day. How 'bout it guys?

Absolutely awesome day! Nine guys showed up.
Thanks:
Two friends of mine who specialize in patio stone came out and worked all day had never even played disc golf before in their lives! PJ Guiney and Mark Hayes thank you. The tees are beautiful! Mark got a birdie on one for his first hole out ever!
Chris Hartford brought game with all the right tools! Sunday would have been Heck if this dude wasn't around for sure, also responsible for delivering 80% of the days stone.
John Nolan cleared the fairways after his fair share of hauling the heavy stuff. I now just need to learn how to land in that ten foot wide strip in the middle!
Tyler came geared up with hand truck, crowbar, shovel, and steel rake!
Brunoli was adamant from fine tuning and prepping the pads to the finishing touches. Also making time to pick up some garbage (a sight epidemic at our park at the moment). A key player, especially once lunch time started slipping away!
Dennis came by bright eyed and chipper. He was lucky enough to haul tons of stone and dust and fix up Four with the guys while Fourteen was being completed.
Tony braved the storm to endure a morning of hard labor with the crew. I think he made more trips up to Eleven than anyone (longest haul plus up-hill!)!
And one more for ! Our long lost bro Justin. I had just gotten his number from Will to get him posted but wrote it in my 2012 planner which I just lost. I was going to call Will back but never did. So around twelve o'clock Justin pulls in to play. He scratched his plan for a round and hauled dust with us for two hours instead. That's rare for people to work when they are ready to play!
So with me it was a total of ten.
So we did good. A record work day for Page Park. Four tees.

Amazing work guys. Especially getting 4 and 11 done way up in the woods. Wow!
Going forward, if anybody would like to do more improvements and needs $ to do so (tee signs come to mind) please contact me. I am accumulating course fundage from the dubs league, and it's just sitting there, waiting to be spent on the course.
